The property is not well maintained and lacks care. Lots of small things, like a wobbly toilet, no bedside lamps, really old and crappy pillows, sheets etc, no toilet paper provided, stained cushions, infested with ants (which we fixed ourselves). Not the fault of the owner, but there is a big dog that lives nearby and is left on the balcony from 7am to bark its head off, it can be loud in the evening after 10pm too. For 3 out of 4 weeks of our holiday there was super loud construction work next door from 8am - the owner basically disappeared and refused any kind of compensation. It could be a lovely place to stay if the owner really cared about their guest's experience. I say this as the owner of a property listed on booking.com rated 9.5, it's not that hard.

I believe that such elementary trifles as rubbish bags and toilet paper should still be provided in normal quantities. This is not the issue with which you need to call the owner, but I also think it is wrong to run to the shop to buy packs of consumables. The towels and bedding are very worn and need to be replaced.
