Cortijo Burruelo

Overall we had a nice time, price for the value was good, especially that we booked quite late and saw the limited number of offers for 8 people close to paragliding launches, but there are points of improvements and also some things that are good to know when someone travels in wintertime. Heating in winter is not easy. We did not need a lot of heating but being outside all day doing sports and having a small kid it would have been nice to warm up a bit. I asked in advance whether there was heating in all rooms, I was said there was. In the ground floor only the living room had, not the bedrooms. I know that in the south if Spain it is not that common to have heating because of the weather, but at the ege of the mountains it is still cold in wintertime. Due to a lot of rain 2 of the kitchen windows were flooding the counter and the floor. Not just dripping, but really flooding, half of the counter couldn’t be used. There was also an electiricity issue due to the rain. Also the groundfloor toilet flooded in the rain, there was a trick and also sometimes the first floor shower usage caused it. I understand it is a rural house with limited possibilities for water systems, still having these floods at arrival and the next day and at the end we were not that comfortable. The good point here is that the customer service was excellent, when we called, in 15-20 minutes the owner/caretaker came with a plumber, electrician, whoever was needed and the problems were solved quickly. The kitchen was not thoroughly cleaned, handles were a bit sticky, we also cleaned the bathrooms at arrival, sanitaires inside were clean but the outsides not that much. The house can accomodate max 10 people but there were no big saucepans for cooking, the number of small ones were also not sufficient. Would be nice to have 2 big at least. We also bought knifes that were needed. The mattresses were older and a lot used, it was not that comfortable but ok.
