Cortijo La Solana Montefrío

We had a glorious stay at the cortijo and truly everything was perfect. The big house is very comfortable, well-equipped and spotlessly clean, the terrace is very wide and gives way to a large swimming pool, and the views over the valley with the endless olive groves are simply stupendous. On a clear day, you can see right across to the snow-capped Sierras. But best of all is the generosity and care of our host, Manuel. He is always ready to respond to requests for information, brings his own eggs and olive oil for our kitchen and is kindness incarnate. And I particularly appreciated his readiness to speak to me in slow and clear Spanish so that I could practice my very basic language skills. If I’d been able to give him 20/10, I would have done so. This is the perfect place to relax, unwind and recharge one’s batteries before further tourist adventures.

Cortijo La Solana is magnificently placed between countless olive orchards and offers unparalleled tranquility. We spent four wonderful nights there and had a great time exploring the surroundings. Manuel even gifted us with some eggs from his free-range chickens located nearby :)

Wonderful views right across to the Sierra Nevada and a lovely cortijo with a refreshing pool. Manuel, the owner, couldn’t have been more helpful and even brought us some fresh eggs from his own chickens! We absolutely loved our stay - peace and quiet and recommend highly!
