When we checked in there were two other couples checking in at the same time as us, we all had issues with the check in machine and we also all had issues with the rooms we were given. Felt bad for the one member of staff who was there, I think she was a cleaner and kept having to ring management for us all. We paid extra for a superior double with a balcony and we were not given a balcony - it had doors that opened to bars with chairs leaning on them that there was not room to open them or sit on them. We called to check and were told that was the class of room we paid for, even though the website specifies a balcony. The room was also very dark, there was no overhead lighting at all, just a light around the mirror at the table on one of the walls. Also one of the sockets in the room did not work.

“Nice location. Loud, randy couple next door”

So I've stayed here two different times. What it has going for it is that it's a great location in the old city that is near the market. The air conditioning was strong, which matters because it can get hot in the summer, although the cleaning staff came in after one day and changed something and I was never able to get the air conditioning back to where it was before.

To be improved

If you come by taxi, usually they can only get so close to the hotel and then point you in the direction. There is a self check-in. The actual staff is in another building that is over by the cathedral about a 5-minute walk away. Both times that I've stayed here the self check-in didn't work and I had to then leave and go to the other building to check-in. The very randy couple next door apparently didn't get a chance to see much of the city and really didn't care who could hear them. There's no staff around, so who do you raise these issues to?

“Excellent location in the heart of the old city—just a short walk to all the main tourist attractions. While the room was on the smaller side, it was modern, well-maintained, and fully equipped with everything we needed for our 4-day holiday in Valencia · Cons: We found the check-in process a bit frustrating. We had two bookings under the same last name, and the self check-in machine showed an error due to this. Although it’s possible to check in using a reservation number, we weren’t provided with it in advance—no email or message with the necessary details. Since reception is only open in the morning (9–12), and check-in starts after 3 pm, there was no staff available when we arrived around 4 pm. We had to make an international call to contact the hotel and get our reservation number. The issue was eventually resolved, but it seemed odd that the machine couldn't handle two reservations with the same last name but different first names. This is definitely something that could be improved.”
