“We would definitely stay there again. It’s like being in heaven.”
The amazing view. Hot tub on the terrace. Calm living. Simple country home. Fresh air. Total peace.
“Perhaps one of the best villas on the Island, with Hot Tub”
Firstly, Heidi was one of the owners (her husband Juan was there too, but I only talked with Heidi) and she was literally phenomenal! I couldn't express it enough. Anything you could need, she was there for. Able to provide advice of local shops, events, etc. 11/10 for customer service to you as a tenant. In terms of the villa, location was great. The weather was perfect, despite being far up in the mountains. The villa itself was small but cosy. Perfect for absolutely everything that could be needed on a holiday. Good shower in the house. The bed was REMARKABLY comfortable for me. I entirely slept brilliantly on it (Kudos to Heidi and Juan for that). Good size of fridge freezer. Good cooker. They even have a TV and DVD player (we didn't use it, but nice that they had it). Even a router there with good WiFi strength. Sofa was comfy enough. Now for my favourite thing - the hot tub!!! 🥰🥰🥰 it was absolutely blissful! Astoundingly cool to sit at night and watch the stars at night in the beautiful bubbling hot tub. Even cooler, these guys didn't charge extra for the use of the hot tub. It was all inclusive. That being said, we didn't need to use it every day. We used it 3 outta 6 days (depends on how busy your holiday is). The other thing to top all of this off, hot tub and villa, was the astounding view. It was so picturesque and tranquil, so quiet (97% of the time. There were 2 dogs very infrequently barking but not loud enough to disturb at night for sleeping) and truly relaxing. Blend all of this together and the amazing 22°C - 26°C, blue skies and beautiful view, this villa was a true slice of heaven on earth. I entirely recommend this. A final note - If you want the one with the hot tub when booking, make sure to reserve the one with the hot tub in the title. It costs a little more but 100% worth it. Price was very reasonable and well worth it!!! If we return to Gran Canaria, it will most likely be here!
As mentioned, the landlords were exceptional, even the dogs barking (perhaps in 6 days they barked between 10 and 20 times total, so not a lot) weren't that bad. It is nearly difficult to pick anything I didn't like, but there were a few things (nothing the landlords could do about these things to be fair). The roads were difficult to drive around and kept getting narrower and filled with rocks that occasionally would fall off the side of the hill and be scattered over the road. We had to get out and kick a few into the side of the road. Narrow roads when meeting cars on steep 45° angles are... challenging 😅. The nearest town is 10 minutes away, which isn't a problem, only for the difficult roads. The dirt road where the property is, is a sharp turn to the right off the road (best going up to the next bend in the road and turning. It's 10 seconds on and entirely worth doing that. Better than a 50 point turn in the road lol). Once you get into this disconcerting drive way that if you drive too fast, the wheel will spin in the dirt (slow is the name of the game on the mountain roads). The steep angles, again not good for nervous drivers, make it challenging. To turn and come back after the villa is very disconcerting and nerve-wracking. I was fortunate enough to have a decent car that allowed me to move towards the hill on the left and steer straight into the villa drive itself, on the right. Once I learned that was possible, it makes it 5 million times easier. I recommend this if your car permits it. It might feel like you're tilting your car but it's safe and does work. A good solution to a problem that might be there for some. The toilet cannot have toilet paper in it. It is put into a bin. Again, the pipes are not great in Gran Canaria, especially rural areas, so it would clog and be bad. Nothing the landlords could do about this. Once you get past the thought of a bin with shitty paper in it, it is fine.
