“DO NOT GIVE A DAMAGE DEPOSIT 9”
Do not hand over money for damage deposit for this apartment. On arrival we gave a deposit of 300 euro. We left the apartment in immaculate condition, as we had received it. 4 days after departure, I messaged Edgar asking when my deposit would be returned, he messaged me back saying that the deposit would be returned on that day. Within a day, I noticed that this message was deleted from my whatsapp messages. 10 days after departure, I still had not received my deposit, again I sent a message asking for my deposit to be returned. I received a message back, saying that I will not be receiving my money back as the locked linen closet had been opened and the sheets had blood on them. This is untrue, we did not unlock the linen closet, we did not leave sheets with blood half washed out in the closets. I have asked Edgar to call me on numerous occasions or for the owner of the property to call me, he now says that the sheets may cost up to 400 euro because he is still waiting to hear from the laundry person if the stains will wash out (11 days later!!!). The apartment was lovely, however the washing machine did not work properly, it kept tripping the electricity, the televisions could not be connected (neither was resolved). The showers were both blocked and overflowed (this matter was resolved), there was not enough cups, plates, etc in order to be able to utilise the dishwasher, we only received 1 set of keys for the apartment, even though we were promised 2 sets. We lost the key to the main door, leaving us with no set. Edgar told us that the lock cylinder must be replaced, this was understandable, so my husband replaced this cylinder and lock, leaving them with 4 new keys. I have contacted booking.com about the money not returned, they have promised me that they will resolve this problem and that the policy of booking.com is that the deposit is returned on departure date. This has been very stressful.

Key collection was confusing, as you need to get from a different property. All ok, once I understood what was being asked of me.

The flat is spacious with 2 bedrooms and 2 bedrooms. The location is fantastic overlooking the port.
As the location is fantastic we felt the accommodation will always be praised but there were so many things lacking. There was not even a hairdryer which I ended up having to buy andan waiting to to be reimbursed. The dishwasher did not work. There were no international channels. All these things were probably known to the the host who is apparently about to refurbish but did not tell us until we complained things did not work after spending ages searching. The balcony is so rusty it may be dangerous . We were there during the red alert period in November 2024 and got a message from the agent but had to sort out the dangerous canopy flapping in the wind. We found the instructions to pick up the keys from a different key box outside a different flat very confusing and the agent did not respond unless it suited him. We never met an actual person. I speak fluent Spanish but ended up communicating in English with Edgar asI assume the owner Michael is not Spanish and wanted him to know about any problems. Great building but poor service.
