“Hotel is a beautiful building, rooms were clean and comfortable with a small balcony to sit out on. The continental breakfast was great. · Cons: The rooms were very small and had a tiny shelf with a kettle and instant coffee. Walls were also quite thin, so bring your earplugs. Location was OK, I knew we were staying outside town but the buses to get back up the hill were not reliable.”

The best

The rooms were clean and spacious.

To be improved

The bed was hard as a rock. The location is very inconvenient. It is difficult to get to the center of town and there are no restaurants. The check-in was confusing, no staff at front desk.

“Lights in Reception on but no one at home!”

The small terrace. Car park was handy

Not really a hotel as such, more like a few rooms in a building with a 'virtual reception'... No employee of the property was here at all on the day we arrived. Had to phone someone to get access to the building and our room. As the attached photo shows, no one at home in Reception. Also, walls are so thin between rooms you can hear the guests next door flush their toilet... Indeed right on cue I have just heard it! On quite a noisy road too. Bring ear plugs! Rooms are quite basic with no air conditioning (!) but OK. Over priced overall. It was not quite as bad as the unattended hotel in the film Touch of Evil but the almost complete lack of staff presence was rather unerring. The mature lady cleaner was also a bit grumpy! Would not recommend.

“Old meets new”
The best

The location was fab...downhill walk to San Sebastian .... uphill back a bit more difficult but buses run every 15mins. Close to Monte Igueldo where the views are fantastic.The room very comfortable and modern ...within an old building...best of both worlds.

To be improved

It was all lovely but the views from our terrace was hindered by foliage and we were unable to view the mountains from here.Maybe a little trim and then the vista would open up and the views would be seen when spending time on your personal terrace.
