“Very good!”
A very nice, cozy and comfortable apartment, which has absolutely everything you need: coffee machine, kettle, oven, microwave, all utensils, hairdryer, towels, personal hygiene products. The apartment and all the stuff are new. Rooms were very very clean and the smell was amazing! Location is very good: 3 min from the supermarket, a lot of good cafes nearby, local groceries as well. To the beach it is approx 25 min by foot. We parked a car right in front of the house. There are quite a lot of parking spots nearby, but after 9 PM, it can be difficult to find one. However, you should still be able to find a spot.
“We will love to stay there next time”
We love the rooms and the area
“Very nice place at a great price!”
This small apartment is a block away from the central park on Puerto Sagunto. I stayed there for a week. On previous trips, I've stayed at Hotels Teide and Exe, and liked the place much better than either of them, even though the price was lower than Teide's and less than half the cost of Exe. The building looks to be about 50 years old, but the owner has completely remodeled the apartment and equipped it very well. One bedroom has a Spanish double bed and the other two Spanish singles. For one person, it was roomy and very comfortable. It would also be good for a couple, or a couple with one or two children, but might be a bit tight for four adults, depending on how much space they are accustomed to. The bedroom wardrobes were roomy and came with ten wooden hangers each. The kitchen comes with a large refrigerator, washing machine, microwave, oven, electric cook top, toaster and coffee maker. There are four sets of utensils, six sets of dishes, some pots and cutlery. The dining table seats four comfortably. The living room has a large sofa and a good flat-screen TV. The internet connection is not shared and is fast and reliable. The bathroom is tiny as bathrooms in Europe often are, but there's a wide sink with cabinet space underneath and a modern shower. The hot water comes from a larger than usual wall tank, and the water came up fast and lasted for a full shower. The toilet paper was good quality. The nice touches throughout the apartment show the owner has given thought to the comfort of her guests. It strikes me that this place would make for a great cheap beach getaway, especially for northern Europeans. Fly into Valencia on a cheap hop airline, take the Metro to Turia station, walk a block down Menendez Pidal to the central bus station, take the hourly bus to Puerto Sagunto, get off at the Reina Isabel II stop, and you are a short block from the apartment. The flat is 1.8 km from the beach and the same bus will take you there.
The downsides were minor, at least for me; (1) There's no elevator so you have to walk up 2 1/2 sets of stairs. (2) There aren't a lot of English speakers in this part of town. There's several good restaurants and a couple of nice supermarkets nearby, but you'll need to have Google Translate to figure out menus and such. If you eat at the beach, there's more English-speakers there. (3) There's a family who lives in the block behind who comes out every evening, sits in the street and yells at each other. At times like this it's an advantage not to understand Spanish. The screaming runs from about 6:30 to 9 PM, and can be heard clearly inside the apartment with the windows closed. Other than that, the apartment is very quiet and you hear nothing from the neighbors except the occasional outer door slamming shut.
