Denia Marriott La Sella Golf Resort & Spa

This Marriott in Denia has exceptional staff, beautiful clean rooms, and an amazing breakfast buffet. We were upgraded to a balcony and allowed early check in for our spa appointment, which we appreciated. The massage services were excellent. However, the resort is far from the beach and town, and you cannot walk anywhere from the property. Taxis were difficult to get for return trips even with help from the front desk. The spa facilities felt dated, and charging €25 to €30 for basic amenities like the sauna and whirlpool did not feel worth it. We also could not get dinner reservations because restaurants were booked months in advance and no walk ins were allowed. Overall, we would stay again, but only with advance planning due to the isolated location and reservation challenges.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel on 24.10.2025 for my 65th birthday. The hotel is advertised as a golf and spa resort. However, the spa facilities are vague. There are few photos and its not entirely clear what facilities are offered for the entrance fee. The spa staff were very unhelpful and quite rude. All I could get out of them was that it was 25 Euros each for 90 minutes (guest rate). The area appears to be quite small and the online description says there is a spa circuit and cold therapy with ice. Not being a fan of cold, especially ice, this was enough to put me off! There are free saunas advertised but these seem to be situated in the changing rooms!! My husband and I have lived in Germany and experienced spas there and in Holland and these are mostly good value for money. This experience plus the outdoor pool, was a disappointment. The outdoor pool was significantly damaged in places and had lots of evidence of black mould (which my husband has an allergy to). The rest of the staff at reception and in the asian restaurant were excellent, so it was a shame that the pool and spa were disappointing, as that is why we chose to stay at this hotel.

We stayed here for a week while attending a wedding at Casa Santonja, and the hotel really made the whole experience special. For the first two nights, we stayed in the main hotel, the rooms were lovely, the restaurant offered delicious food with a good selection, and the setting was perfect for enjoying a relaxing drink in the evenings. The main pool was stunning, with plenty of sun beds available, which made it easy to unwind. When the whole wedding party arrived, we moved over to the apartments, which worked brilliantly, it felt like having our own private pool, and it added to the fun and sense of togetherness. The only disappointment was for the bride and groom. They would have liked to book more rooms for guests to stay on-site, but were told the hotel was fully booked. It was a real shame, as during our stay it seemed very quiet, and it would have been so special to have everyone together. Overall, though, we had a wonderful week and will remember our time here very fondly.

Went on a golfing trip and was very very pleasant surprised. We were received at reception with a big smile and got check in done very efficient and professional. Upon arriving in the room, these are large, clean well equipped and have fantastic mattress (have slept like a baby). As we came to play golf obviously we played the adjacent golf course which was superb as well and well managed no waiting times what so ever, really impressed. Breakfast was served in the main dining room and had all yewou can wish for, from fresh juices, milk, yogurt to all sorts of ham, cheese, etc etc. The only down side experienced was in the gym. there was this German couple that got constantly insulted/provoked by a Spanish man with glasses, when the German gentleman asked if he could help him the Spanish man out of nothing he hit him in the face. Nevertheless had a superb stay and will stay again soon. Absolutely 100% recommendable!!!

Lovely hotel with excellent friendly staff!! Could not fault the staff especially breakfast. Our room was spacious and well appointed with a fantastic shower all you would need. Breakfast was very good and the breakfast area lovely. Pool area was good but the pool itself had many tiles needing replaced (a common fault at many hotels which would take so little time to keep on top of). We had no issues getting loungers even when arriving in the middle of the day. If staying in the Denia region it’s a great option.

Terrible golf staff - on August 12th we booked the 17.52 slot, as we were about to tee off a group in two buggies arrived who had booked the prior spot and we let them play ahead of us as we had trolleys. By hole 4 we had two guys following us in buggie telling us they were closing the course at 20.00. We were playing efficiently but had these two guys following us from hole 4 to 7. On the 7th tee, we caught up the group ahead and had to wait for 5 minutes for them to tee off only to have the staff buggie chase us down the fairway and ask us to hurry up. They were arrogant and rude and I would advise you against this gold course.
