“Not gonna book again.”
The best

I went there for a trip, upon reaching the hostel I was informed my booking had been cancelled with no prior information about the same.

“Worst attitude to client”
The best

This is the worst place ever if to start with basic communication with the client. From the beginning they texted constantly about my time arrival (which I couldn’t say exactly), then they suggested to switch the dates (cause I stayed before another place and could prolong), then they didn’t approve the dates of change (though there was availability of rooms), then they put status no show and blocked me everywhere, what’s app and booking. So I was charged money for misunderstanding and not desire to negotiate. Not the place I would recommend. The second night I booked, again we had misunderstanding so I was charged twice (I didn’t live this place). I recommend always pay though booking, not option pay at property, cause never it’s possible to prove anything communicating with the kind of hostels who are non negotiable and non client oriented, non trustworthy (On phone they tell one thing, act opposite).

“DON'T GO HERE!”
The best

Worst hostel experience of my life. We arrived late due to our travel delayes, so they didn't let us check in; it was Sunday evening and everything was closed we were begging them to let us charge our phones so we could go somewhere else but instead of helping us they screamed at us in Spanish, a language that we can't understand, they attacked us verbally and physically to the point we had to call the police. They also blocked our number and on booking, and they charged us for the two nights we were supposed to stay even though they didn't let us in THIS IS NOT A PLACE FOR TRAVELERS, DON'T GO THERE

“AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS”
The best

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!! My fiancé and I, arrived late due to our delayed travel into the city. We tried to get in as soon as possible but unfortunately our phones were on a mere 1-2% each so were unable to keep the Diagonal House alerted every step of the way. We arrived at your hostel late around 10:45pm (to which we understand now is a late check in time). We are frequent travelers and have stayed in hostels all over the world to which, I’ve never experienced an issue so humiliating and beyond unbelievable like this. When we arrived, we knocked on the door of the hostel to which we were greeted by a young-20-30 something woman who claimed she worked there. She said she was unable to unlock the doors and let us into the rooms because her “boss” was home with a pregnant wife and could not be bothered. We understood immediately that they did not want to let us into the rooms that we paid for, but I asked her if it was possible that we charge our phones because we had just gotten into the city and we’re on our last remaining percentage and didn’t want to be stuck homeless in the middle of the night sleeping on the streets. She insisted that we would not be able to enter or charge our phones. My fiancé and I begged her to tell us where we can go to find a place to stay (mind you this was Sunday evening when most places were closed) and she said she would ultimately tell us. My fiancé and I do not speak Spanish well and I assume she did not speak English well because after I asked her one more time if she can please let us charge our phones then she slammed the small window stating we were giving her an attitude. My fiancé and I were completely confused and thrown off because that’s when an older man approached the window screamed at us to leave then they slammed the door. My fiancé knocked at the door because we were so confused what was happening and genuinely needed help and that’s when the older man (who only spoke Spanish) opened the door and lunged at my fiancé as if he was going to hit him in the face. They both were screaming at us in Spanish and we - who didn’t understand were begging them to let us charge our phones so we can find another place to stay, could leave. That’s when the old man slammed my fiancé’s foot in the door, and his shoe was stuck completely so he couldn’t move. We then banged on the door screaming for them to open the door because he was now literally caught in the door and all we wanted to do was leave. But we couldn’t. They refused to open the door after 20minutes until another guest arrived and entered the hostel who then released his foot. Finally, the police arrived and though while they tried to sympathize with us, they said because the old man didn’t actually hit my fiancé in the face there was nothing they could actually do to him. They suggested us to go to the local police office to file a proper report. We ultimately left the property because we obviously didn’t feel comfortable staying or fighting to stay at a place in which an old man who worked there just tried to assault another guest desperate to charge their phones. This was the absolute worst experience I’ve ever had in my life and I can’t believe this business lacks the empathy to deal with paying guests. The worst part about it was, we were booked and paid for 2 nights. If we arrived too late to check in for one night, we should’ve been able to check in for the following day. I wrote up a report to discuss the matter with the company direct and instead of attempting to alleviate the situation, they immediately blocked my number. I contact Booking.com to refute the charge because they refused to let us in and they sided with us but ultimately said it was up to the business to release the refund and they don’t want to. DO NOT STAY HERE. There are much better options in this city!!! They are scams artists and wildly AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!! “Drop by there awhile”
The best

This is the best place. It is like a palace converted to modern living, you can mix in the kitchen and crash in the lounge or play with the dog, or go out on the balcony for air. The entry is similar to a temple, there is sometimes a doorman, an elevator from the past with mechanical relays, and outside an ATM machine. Down the avenue there are uptown stores and the other way there are hip locales. In both directions you'll find Gaudi. Gaudi is everywhere (some in aemulation of Gaudi however), his works aren't all, there are castels too, also parks.  And a trolley going to the ocean not very far (a couple miles however on the avenue and goes to all the beaches).

“BED BUGS!!!”
The best

This place in infested with bed bugs. I spent two nights, on two different beds, and photographed/killed bed bugs on both beds. The itching began immediately and I didn't sleep either night. After I notified the manager of the issue, he blocked my phone number. He also called me a liar on Hostelworld, claiming there were mosquitoes in the room. That is untrue. Just look at the attached photos of my text conversation with the manager and read the other reviews. The photo of my back was taken in the hostel bathroom. Do you think I'm lying? Additionally, I can assure you they have not remedied the issue, because they deny it exists. These bites ruined my summer vacation - 4 weeks in Europe with welts all over my body... Do not stay here. There are other, nicer places in this city. You don't need the trouble.
