To be improved

Unfortunately, we didn’t feel comfortable during our stay and decided to leave a day early. The room was very dark, with a window facing an indoor area, so there was no natural light. The atmosphere was not inviting, and the breakfast was very basic and not tasty. For the price, we expected more – it didn’t feel comparable to other hostels we’ve stayed in. Sadly, the overall experience did not meet our expectations.

“Disappointing”
To be improved

We chose this place based on good reviews and the fact that breakfast was included in the price. We booked two nights in Room No. 1 with a private bathroom. This was probably the worst stay we’ve ever had using Booking services. The room was dirty, with spiderwebs or some kind of dust on the ceiling. Room faced main street, so the noise during the day was unbearable. There was only one window, and even that was broken and couldn’t be opened properly. The bathroom was very dirty. I’m not particularly sensitive to smells, but the stench in the bathroom was terrible — my girlfriend couldn’t even use the shower in the evening because of how disgusting it was. The breakfast was terrible — just white bread, carrots, butter, and coffee. If you’re fine having just bread and coffee for breakfast, and pay more for night stay because of breakfast included, then maybe it’s okay, but in my opinion, that’s not what a proper breakfast should be. During breakfast, there was a strange man who kept bothering us. Even after we told him we don’t speak Spanish, he continued to act inappropriately. We are budget travelers and definitely not picky — we’ve stayed in plenty of hostels and are used to basic conditions. But what we experienced here was far below even basic expectations and nothing like the reviews we saw on the Booking platform. Before booking two nights, the rules stated that free cancellation is allowed any time, so we informed the host in advance that we would not stay the second night. He replied that it was okay and that we would receive a refund within a few days. However, we never received the money. Over almost two weeks later, we contacted host via booking, the host told us that in order to get the refund, we would need to return to the hostel — something we were never informed about on the day we checked out. By that time, we had already left Tenerife, and to this day, we still haven’t received any refund.

“Very pleasant and clean hostel - great for anyone travelling on a budget”
The best

Very pleasant hostel and a good place to stay on a budget. We had a private room and shared bathroom which were very clean and tidy. Check in was good, as was the wi-fi, kitchen facilities and lovely terrace on top of the building where a simple continental style breakfast was put out each day. Staff were friendly and check in was quick and efficient.

To be improved

We found the room very cool at night but as it was March, I imagine this would be an advantage in Summer! It didn't really bother us but be aware that the hostel is quite high up in town so if you arrive on a bus, expect to climb several very steep slopes!
