“perfect one-night stay, but online check-in did not work as planned”
The best

There was everything needed what a one-night-stay. No extras, just the basics for a reasonable price: bed, shower, breakfast. The staff was very friendly and pragmatic. Everything was clean, the windows opened to the outside to let fresh air in. The other guests and the area were very quiet in principle. Town centre with lots of restaurants in a distance of few walking minutes.

To be improved

The required online check-in did not work for me. They said that they sent me a check-in link via mail but booking.com seems to have blocked the link. So I spend 10min on the phone, not looking forward to the bill... The person on the phone was super friendly and helpful and gave me the necessary numbers for getting into the building and my room, but they spoke no English, just French, Spanish and Catalan. The building is poorly soundproof (people, water pipes) but with ear plugs it was no problem at night.

The check in procedure was troublesome and not user friendly. It was all in Spanish which wasn’t much use to an English speaker.

The best

good stay for one night if you're not too fussy - it has everything you need and their reception-less model seems to work fine, although...

To be improved

perhaps actual staff would act as a deterrent to stop some imbeciles from being loud at night (like the person I had next door, who amused the whole floor with endless burping and screaming)
