“Disappointing.Lack of customer care spoilt what should have been a good holiday”
The location is good.
When I was writing my review I noticed that the visitors the week after us had already written a review. They complained about broken shutters and were told it had only just happened. This was not true. We were complaining from Sunday June 14th that shutters in the bedrooms wouldn’t open. I was asked for video proof which I provided. We were told a mechanic would come on Wednesday but they didn’t. All bedrooms were dark for our whole stay. The description of the property stated two child safety gates. We were told this was an error by Booking.com and they had no gates. We had a young toddler and needed stair gates! One single mattress was very uncomfortable Fortunately I was able to use the spare bed. Supplies were very meagre. We were asked to empty the rubbish everyday but only 2 bin bags were provided.
“Lack of proactively to make repairs led to a disappointing experience”
We stayed last year and it was very good, hence decision to return this year. Location is one block from beach, sizeable duplex and useful pool/ patio area. Three bathrooms are handy, plus the storage etc in bedrooms. Close to restaurants and bars, 7 min walk to bus stop for trips around island.
On the day of arrival HomeVillas advised the shutters in bedrooms were not working and they’d only just been notified by the previous tenants. They would be in touch. This meant the double room had about a foot of sunlight and the two back rooms had none. Not what you expect when going to a sunny clime for a holiday and want to look out of window. It took until halfway through the holiday for two shutters to be repaired. The third bedroom was never fixed… and only two motors had been arranged not three despite the owner knowing all three were not operating, and all three rooms being used. The room was christened the bat cave due to the total darkness. It made us think it was very odd if all three had broken separately the same week. We wondered if this was more about repair costs and not thinking about the holidaymakers experience. Despite multiple what’s app communications with homevillas, also asking for compensation since one person had their room in darkness all week, we heard nothing apart from they were looking into it. No pro activity at all. Very disappointing after last years experience with the same property. In fact, last year we were advised the dish washer had broken on day of arrival but it was replaced after a couple of days. It’s worth noting too, as per other comments, the pool has no handrail which can make it harder to get out of the pool, there are only two sun loungers for a 5 bed property, we couldn’t get the tv to work, and some of the towels need replacing since very thin. I would say that Homevillas had maintained very good communication until there was a problem.

Very comfortable and spacious apartment. Brilliant location.
It potentially could house 5/6 people yet only two sun loungers provided at the outside of window. This meant one of our party was segregated using general pool loungers.
