“The receptionist was absolutely incredible! So helpful, friendly, kind and just lovely to talk to. She checked us in very early in the morning amazing the room was already ready. She recommended lots of places to visit and things to see. She also told us about the bus schedule. Your hospitality was probably the highlight. Besides that, the room was basic, clean, and met all of our needs.”

“A great place to drop the bags off and go explore”

Zarautz is a little gem. We were looking to stay in San Sebastian but were so happy that we ended up here. The Ekia Pentsioa was then the perfect location to explore the region from. The room is a decent size for European accommodation. Clean and a perfect place to drop the bags and head off. It has a little Nespresso coffee machine, tv and desk area. It's located in the heart of the town with supermarkets, restaurants, bars and 30 minutes train journey to San Sebastian all walking distance. The beach is 50 metres from the front door and you have many beautiful coastal walks from Zarautz.

To be improved

The plumbing makes a noise after flushing. It does it once or twice after you use it. It would have to do with the water pressure, is my thinking. The walls are a bit thin, so other rooms showering are noticed but not disturbing. It's located on level 2 of what seems to be a small apartment block. The entry level and stairs are a little scuffed and not inviting. Also it's not obvious where you are going when you get in. Make sure to connect with the accommodation advising of your time of arrival to make it easier for yourself.

Too noisy in the morning (traffic) to have windows open. Finding sensibly priced parking was tricky but we finally cracked that by using Arinpark App.

The staff was terrific and helpful beyond just checking us in. There were plenty of food options nearby. It was raining, so we didn't visit the beach, but it was also very close.

To be improved

The room had a slight odor, possibly from people hanging wet clothes or towels inside. It wasn't dirty, but it just had an odor. We kept the windows open to help.
