“A beautiful enclave in the Spanish hills for some luxury R&R”
We had an amazing time staying at El Amparo for a long weekend during a friends wedding in a nearby town. As soon as we (myself, my husband and our friend) arrived Jodie gave us a really warm welcome. The place is stunning, situated in rolling olive groves, spotlessly clean and in beautiful condition. Each room is unique, very spacious and has all that you need (including lots of hangers!) and aircon etc. The pool is fabulous and very peaceful. The in house chef Stuart created wonderful breakfasts using local ingredients (homemade lemon cake and marmalade!) and also can arrange a courtyard dinner for guests, which we did which was multi course fine dining style and wonderful. All in all our trip hugely exceeded expectations and we will certainly be back. Thank you so much Jodie and team!
Honestly nothing really - the only thing I'd say is you do need a car for the location as its in the countryside and no taxis etc. so just be aware of that.

“Only go when it is hot weather and know you'll need to travel longer to get there”
Free parking, nice views, reasonable breakfast, good size room. I think this would be a lovely place to visit in the heat of summer as there is a nice pool, great views and because you're in the mountains it's cooler. We went just before it was going to shut for the season when it was colder and it wasn't a great experience.
The heating/cooling situation, we stayed in mid October when it was starting to cool down. We were greeted by the owner on arrival as it was a day off for the staff, they showed us around and explained that the heating system was under the floor and a bit complex so best to message to get it sorted and that there was a control in the room we could use for moving up and down how we would like by a degree or two (but no display as to what temperature- just going blind). We followed their instructions and the temperature was okish but did get either cold or hot. One of the following days when we came back to the room the housekeeper was there and had a go at us for touching the controls- very verbally confrontational and counter to what the owner had said. Also we choose the place because of the location to visit other places and use as a hub based on google maps travel times. After you've booked and just before you are about to arrive we were told that google maps is incorrect and took you on a gravel road which is only suitable for 4 wheel drives, the actual way to get there involves going a longer way through a small town. This would've been good to have known beforehand on the main advert as we likely would've chosen to stay elsewhere. It was not a pleasant experience and I wish we had stayed somewhere else.
“The perfect Spanish countryside getaway.”
The owners were so friendly. It made us feel at home straight away and shared great informations about the area. The cook was super nice guy and accommodated us with custom vegetarian dishes just for us. The view was breathtaking. We'll be back for sure !
I can't say there is something we didn't like. Don't change anything :)
