El capricho Balcón en la Plaza Mayor Salamanca Collection Luxury

It was quite hot in the apartment when we arrived but the set heating temperatures could not be altered and we had no Aircon although this was advertised. We were told to open the windows but that was not great as it got very noisy and the rooms became full of flies. The double bedroom blind had no remote to allow us to close it down as the full window was on the main corridor of the apartment. The other guest had to walk passed our bedroom to get to the lounge/kitchen giving us no privacy at all. We had no reply to our request to get a remote delivered to us One of the door codes (there are three) for entering the building and apartment was wrong. Several attempts to gain the correct code was made but we were continually given the wrong code. Eventually I managed to watch a video that was sent to show us how to gain entry and eventually I guessed what code was entered by the man on the video.. This worked! The lift was essential to us and we had heavy suitcases but again the app and entry system did not work. Eventually a man came out and used his code to get it to work but by this time we had dragged our cases up the stairs. We had had an 8 hour drive so we were not too happy by this time. It would have been nice to have had at least a bottle or two of water in the fridge but alas it was empty. The second bedroom was used by just one person but if there were a couple of friends sharing that room they would have no privacy when using the bathroom facilities as it was all open to the bedroom area.

There is no air conditioning and the underfloor heating is set to 22oC with no way to turn it down, the only way to cool the apartment is to open the windows and with it being in the center of the city it is VERY noisy. We visited in April and there were people partying from evening till dawn, not an issue if you keep the windows closed but then it is too hot. Also the lift is accessed by using an app which we could not get to work at all even with the assistance of the host. If you have heavy luggage and cannot manage it up stairs then I would avoid.
