“Best place to feel home close to Caminito del Rey”
Beautiful house, friendly owners and very sweet pets, wonderful service, delicious food, flexible arrangements and a glorious garden. We really felt home from the first instant!
Minor point: The bed and mattress weren't very comfy.
“Amazing place, amazing hospitality, would highly recommend! ⭐️🌟⭐️🌟⭐️🌟⭐️🌟⭐️🌟”
We loved everything about El Cielo Azul. The owners were so friendly and kind - we felt very welcome, and especially enjoyed the company of their beautiful dog and cats! We miss them already! The property is simply stunning - quintessential traditional Spanish, the most amazing ceiling in the bedroom and lovely art work on the walls. En suite bathroom had a great monsoon shower. The pool was a welcome treat during such hot weather. On the other side of the wall is a train station, but the electric trains are so quiet you barely notice them. It felt like we were in a quiet haven/oasis. The garden area with seating for breakfast/dinner/drinks was just beautiful - I could’ve sat there forever with a nice glass of cold wine! The continental breakfast was delicious and everything was so fresh. Olivier was so attentive and kind. We also had a meal there one evening and it was superb - my 12 year old son ate every bit of his salmon dish - which shows how good it was 😂. The coconut ice cream was also incredible! We would highly recommended this wonderful place to anyone. We loved it and wish we could’ve stayed longer. We most definitely want to return sometime. If you are planning on visiting Caminios del Ray - this is the ideal location as it is only 30 mins or so away.
Very small suggestions - there was 1 very small bin in the bathroom, a slightly larger one in the bedroom wouldn’t been useful. The towels in the bathroom were quite small
“Fab place to stay”
It is a lovely hotel, very comfortable beds, and slept so well. The location is great for the station. The swimming pool was lovely, really needed a swim as it was so hot. We had dinner on our second night, and some lovely wine was great. The gardens are excellent, a lovely place for breakfast, which was excellent, especially the Pancakes
It is a very steep walk into the centre but it is worth doing ascomjnv home is all downhill
“A little gem of a hotel within easy reach of Malaga. The owners were very welcoming and always made time to chat to guests. Olivier, gave us excellent tips on local attractions and places to visit. The breakfast was lovely, with a good variety to start the day right. The hotel had a great selection of local wines and beers plus a selection of lovely Belgium beers. We also had a couple of lovely evening meals at the hotel. The pool set in a beautiful garden, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The location is ideal, there is an hourly train service to Malaga and the Caminito del Rey is close by, although if you go by train check the times of the trains coming back. Alora itself is well worth a visit and there is a bus stop nearby that makes getting up the hill to the town easy. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful, friendly base to explore the area!”
