“Stunning and humbling El Borge”
El Borge is stunning, charasmatic and ooozes local traditions, local history and culture. We absolutely loved this very unique and simple abode. During our stay we visited Comares and spent time in the mountains witnessing the raisin route, olive and mango groves / local farming. We would absolutely recommend going here if you fancy a break in the Spanish mountains with breath taking views and a peek into another world to the UK where we live.
“Charming house”
Charming traditional house located in a white village spreaded on the hills. The house has everything you need for a good holiday: comfortable beds, air conditioning, a fully equipped kitchen and a nice terrace with a view to the center of the village. There are some bars and restaurants nearby, we were big fans of Restaurante La Piscina(delicious food, friendly staff). The host was more than helpful, he gave us information on how to get there and where to park, he even helped us get back in the house when we accidentally closed the entrance door while beeing on the terrace and the key was in the house(an it was 22.40 whan that happened).
“Fabulous little property, a bit out the way”
The terrace was everything I hoped it would be - and more. Sitting out in the morning with coffee and then again in the evening with a glass of wine was just heaven. There were 3 bars / restaurants where we ate out most nights but cooking at home (the one time!) was simple - the kitchen is well stocked with pans, utensils, plates etc. Local bars are very reasonably priced and food was delicious. The dolce gusto coffee maker was used multiple times a day! Comfortable beds, plenty of storage in the bedrooms. Location is quite out of the way (car is a necessity) but this adds to the charm of the property. Church bells very loud but only to be expected staying right beside a bell tower! When we were there, some kestrel chicks had hatched right underneath the bell. Amazing to watch them having food dropped in by mum (or dad?).
It would have been useful to get information on where to park and how to get there (without driving through the narrow little streets, which turns out isn't necessary) without having to ask. Satellite box for the TV didn't work but not really an issue as we were out chatting with the locals anyway. Shower in the bathroom is slow draining but floods can be avoided if you turn the water speed down to a fast trickle.
