“Perfect little apartment. One of the best places we've ever stayed in!”

Everything! This is one of the best places we've ever stayed in. The hostess (I'd use her name but am respecting her privacy) is extremely friendly, helpful, generous, and personable. Everything about this lovely apartment is immaculate, including the extra bedroom/office on the second level and the laundry room and rooftop terrace on the third level. The location near the top of the lovely village of Alcalá de los Gazules is perfect. There was a full set of supplies (detergent pods, powder, fabric softener, and a drying rack) for laundry. The location is very private and quiet. There may be some wind noise if it's blowing strongly (which seems to be common in this town), but it didn't bother us. A welcome gift of bread, cheese, chocolates, and a day's worth of coffee capsules and sugar awaited us. (The coffee maker uses Dolce Gusto capsules if you want to buy an additional supply in advance.) The cheese (from Quesería El Gazul outside of town) was fabulous, and we recommend visiting the quesería on your way in or out of town.

To be improved

Driving to the highest point of an old Spanish hilltop town can be stressful, especially when the "easy" road down is closed for construction. Our hostess saved a parking spot for us in the plaza right next to the apartment, but if you are a non-European who is afraid of driving on very narrow streets it may be better to park at the bottom of the hill (near the pedestrian plaza full of restaurants and bars) and walk up.

We were under the impression that there was a terrace with a view from the pictures posted, so that was the disappointment, as that was the only reason that I had booked that specific property. The host was incredibly helpful on texts about other things.
