Streets could be so narrow if you drive in the town, so better be prepared

The entire check in process. I understand it is far more convenient for the host to not have to show up for check in, but to ask the guest to park illegally (which they did and I got a 60 Euro ticket for it) and then require the guest to go all the way into the building, up to the apartment, get the key fob and then have to go back, get the car and only then be able to access the janky parking garage is quite frankly the worst check in I've ever encountered. The garage entry/exit is steep, angled, and very difficult to use. The garage door opener that is inside the garage, which should have made leaving a breeze, was broken which forced me, the guest, to have to use the key fob to open it from the inside when departing. The apartment itself lacked character, shampoo and conditioner (just had a shower gel/shampoo combo - ewww), and had these prison-feel metal shutters which clanged all night long. It had a rock-hard couch, an uncomfortable bed, and lumpy pillows. Oh yes, and the trash: they said I could only throw trash away up the street in a communal area - and only between 8:30 pm and midnight. Seriously? Just horrible, and it demonstrates how their entire setup is for their convenience with very little thought about guests. But the worst was having to repeat the whole process to put the key fob back into the apartment when leaving. I had to drive 1/2 a mile to paid parking then hike back to the apartment to return the key. The host refused to meet me so that I could hand the key fob back once I had used it to exit the garage. Said they were too busy, and spent most of the subsequent emails just CYA with lots of "it's not our fault." It would have been so simple of them to recognize their mistake and offer to make things easier on departure, but they flat out refused any accommodation. It was the rudest encounter I have ever had with a host. I would avoid this place like the plague.
