While I experienced several issues during my stay, I would also like to acknowledge some positive aspects. The price and location of the hostel were excellent. The rates were fair, and the central location was very convenient, allowing easy access to various attractions, including a children's park that we enjoyed visiting with our baby in the afternoon. Additionally, the availability of free parking was a significant advantage and greatly appreciated. Although there was a misunderstanding regarding the romantic package I had requested for our anniversary — which was initially forgotten — I appreciate that once I brought it to the host's attention, he kindly offered the package free of charge the following day. While the gesture was not entirely what I had hoped for, I recognize and value the host’s effort to make amends.

Firstly, the size of the room was extremely inadequate, particularly for guests carrying multiple pieces of luggage. There was hardly any space to move around, which made the stay uncomfortable. Additionally, the room lacked basic and essential amenities such as a mini fridge and a microwave. These are vital for travelers with babies, yet were not available. As a result, I had to store my baby's food at a local café and make daily trips to retrieve it — a highly inconvenient situation. Furthermore, the cleaning services were not performed properly. After we accidentally broke a juice bottle, we cleaned the area to the best of our ability and informed the host immediately. Despite this, the professional cleaning was not carried out, as glass shards remained on the floor. Given that we had a baby with us, this posed a serious safety risk and caused significant stress and concern. Regarding the room's design, while I appreciate the intention to reflect a Roman theme, the practical execution was disappointing. Instead of proper bedside tables, there were fragile, undersized Roman columns that could barely support two remote controls. In a room already limited in space, this decorative choice was impractical. Additionally, the positioning of the lamps directly above the beds was hazardous; they were angled inward, and we repeatedly hit our heads when standing up. Overall, our stay did not meet basic expectations of comfort, safety, or functionality. I hope you will take this feedback seriously and consider implementing improvements for the benefit of future guests.

“Excellent location, really close to the roman theatre. We were only in Merida for 1 night so it was great that everything was within walking distance. Acommodation small for all 4 of us but for the budget it was great. Highly recommend. I'd' foolishly booked another acommodation for the wrong date so this was a very last minute booking, we were in the accomodation within 40 mins of booking it online, saved my bacon!! · Cons: Size of room was small for 4, but was adequate for one night's stay.”
