“The End of the World is a place to visit and revisit”
The house is in the middle of the old village next to the only bar. Split level with a sunny garden in the back. El Tablado is a place that remembers you of life in the North of La Palma, so different but not so long ago. It has it all and is very quiet.
In the house no WiFi In the village no parking place and just, but only just, enough space to turn your car
“Exceptional”
The accommodation is in a stylishly renovated old house. It has everything you need and is very clean. We really enjoyed this little village at the end of the world. The food in the bar was excellent, Claire is a great hostess!
“Silent retreat”
The silence and seclusion of El Tablado are priceless. The house is very 'old-school' but with just enough renovation and tasteful homely touches to make it feel welcoming. The roads in the village are tiny and steep with hardly a spare square inch for parking, but the place would work as a stopover hiking the GR130 or maybe with the help of the daily bus. There are no shops, but cooking basics were there and there were several packs of coffee from previous guests. Claire who runs the house also runs the little bar next door and provides tasty light meals during the day as well as a really cheerful welcome. If like me you hadn't got fit enough for the GR130 there is a magnificent mirador on the east of the village.
Steep steps from the bedroom up to the bathroom
“Very good”
The End of the World is in a fantastic secluded and beautiful location. The small hamlet in where the property sits is located between two reviens. The scenery which is accessible on foot 10 minutes East and West via coastal path is to die for. The owner was most helpful and welcoming and the stay was like going back in time 70 years. No traffic No TV No Internet just unadulterated quiet and a huge dollop of nature and scenery. The complementary walking stick was most welcome as was the washing line. Great value but will take planning getting there.
If you have wide shoulders or "anything else" for that matter the small shower cubicle may take some getting into. Parking can be an issue so parking 8 mins up the steep hill is advised.
