Eurostars Gran Valencia Hotel

Last minute booking using Love Holidays. I did check this hotel out before making the decision to book and all looked good. Don’t go by the pictures on the official website. Firstly, I’d like to clarify why i gave this a 3 out of 5. This is based mainly on securing the deal at a price I now rate as a 3 star experience. Context of the hotel. It sits a good few km’s from the perimeter of the old town. You’ll need to use the metro which is easy to get to from the hotel , only 200 metres walk away. The hotel shares the high rise building with two other hotels, a three star on one side and a four start on the other side. As a result, the reception is accessed at street level and the hotel restaurant and rooms are located from floor 14 and above. Restaurant is on 14, gym on 23 and pool on 24. The restaurant and bar area is ok but almost an afterthought. The bar lacks any atmosphere and is boring. We only used the restaurant for breakfast which had a variety of options but lacked gluten free options. It was also poorly stocked and frequently we had to ask for things that were empty. The gym was ok but the sauna was in a state of disrepair and there were never any towels in the changing rooms to use. The pool was ok, very cold and a little tired and unloved. A small bar on the roof top next to the pool but not open. The room was nice and definitely 4 star standard. The staff were very attentive but they appeared under staffed at all areas. In conclusion it is ok for a cheap deal but I would not pay the full price I’ve seen it advertised as. Hope this helps.

Pros - The pool Good location Reasonable cost Comfortable bed Nice big shower Cons - The fact that the lift was so slow going up to the 19th floor and pretty much stopped on lots of floors before we could get out . Also the fact that there was only 1 member of staff on reception when there was a queue of people waiting to check in. And the fact that the male receptionist who was on the late shift was hesitant to give another bottle of water when our mini bar hadn’t been stocked up . And the fact that we needed 2 towels for a shower and I was told by reception to ask the pool staff but they had told me to ask reception so I went down in the lift and then back up again. There isn’t great communication between staff memebera and that example didn’t make it seamless for the customer .

Management asked for 2 days why the air conditioning does not work anywhere in this hotel ! See the photos Hotel says temperature is 20 It was always more than 24 in the room We tried three different rooms !! Hotel is saving money by Not turning on any AC See my photos There is NO English speaking TV channels In any rooms Only hotel in the world without even BBC news ,CNN,or Sky Has Russian and German !! Gym even has all the windows open as it is so warm Got appt to see the manager on check out Never showed up Front desk staff do not care Never stay here

Arrived at the Hotel on the 22nd and had booked for 3 nights. We spend one night and had to deal with an emergency back home. On Saturday morning I went to the desk to inform them we had to cancel and drive back home to take care of the emergency. Although we had booked directly at the Hotel, they refused to reimburse us for the remaining 2 nights, same for the breakfast we paid, even though we would not eat it. The person who dealt with us at the reception was rude, showed no empathy for our situation...all he wanted was our money. We will never again stay at another Eurostar hotel they do not care for their guests and only want to take your money.

The hotel is part of a large chain and sits alongside others on the same street. It is very convenient for the Metro Beniferri and was generally quiet. Our twin bedded room was comfortable, plenty of coat hangers. The door dividing the bathroom from the hall was a very heavy sliding door, which could prove a challenge to some people. On the last two days of our stay a noticeable 'fishy' smell was present when we returned to our room (we presume it was from mopping the floor), opening the window did clear it. Unusually there were no tea/coffee making facilities and could only be acquired when the dining room or 'bar' was open. So miss breakfast and you will go thirsty, room service was possibly an option at a price. The staff were quite friendly, but only one person spoke any English. Immediately next to the hotel is a large empty building site, so it would be worth checking out before booking as it may get noisy when construction starts.

We stayed for 5 nights at this hotel and really enjoyed it . Location very handy for the metro and buses with easy quick access to the old town town / city centre . The tram from nearby Garbi station was a good option if you want to go to the beach . Some great restaurants within easy walk of the hotel . Definitely worth booking a table as they were always busy . Local supermarkets nearby too . The room we had was lovely and a good selection of food / drink options for breakfast. We would recommend this hotel and hopefully can come back again .
