Verified reviews from real guests who have already stayed here.
Staff were incredible and worked hard.
Location was fantastic for shopping and dining, 15-20 minute walk to town.
Always something good to eat every night, even for picky eaters.
Overall it was a brilliant holiday with only minor issues.
Lovely hotel rooms were big enough with nice balconies.
Swimming pools were brilliant, kids loved them.
“Hated It”
I'm genuinley confused how this hotel has good reviews. Pros * Room has a lot of storage. Cons * Excessively busy * Long queues in the restaurant at every service. * 2 x snack bars serve the exact same food every single day * salad bar in restaurant is exactly the same selection every meal time. * Long queues in restaurant * Restaurant is incredibly noisy. It goes far beyond 'family holiday' noise. You have to shout so that the person next to you can understand you. * There are lots of sunbeds piled up but that is because there isn't actually enough floor space around the pool to lay them down. * crowded pool with guests defecating in it. * Guests constantly smoking around the pool. * freezing cold pools. * staff who seemed annoyed that we were asking for drinks/food. * paperthin walls in rooms. I stayed the last week of August. Absolute waste of money - i've never been so pleased to catch a plane home.
“Holiday 2025”
Lovely hotel rooms were big enough nice balcony Swimming pools - brilliant kids loved them Food - always something good to eat every night there was something different my son is a picky eater and he was fine with everything Location - 15-20 minutes walk to the town which was fantastic for shopping or something eat, beach is stony so wear some sandals haha Staff were incredible rooms were kept tidy they all work so hard. Entertainment - yes 9pm is late but it was good some days the circus act wow! My son was amazed haha Downside - there was a conference over the weekend and the took over one of the pools and the outside area felt intimidating at times just to go outside where they all were. Restaurant allocations - our restaurant we got allocated was on the other side even though we had one in our building which was strange and the one we got allocated to was fully of older people that didn't appreciate children I number of times my son who's 9 got pushed out the way and the drinks machine wasn't working a few times, but other parties got treated to bottled of wine we just stuck to water at tea time. Child friendly - yes and no alot of smoking areas (being a smoker myself) but I could smell smoke in the hotel because people were allowed to sit by the open doors. Overall it was a brilliant holiday a few minor issues but as long as the weather is great that's a big thing
“Very poor - Needs a serious update”
Where do I start! I've been to a fair few all inclusive holidays so l have something to gauge my experience from It's like walking back into 1992, but not in a good way. The rooms are seriously dated and don't look like they've been touched since the place was built. When you need a tv for the kids after a day at the pool before dinner there is only Spanish and French stations tuned in. On our first night the electrics started to smoke and trip out which scared the kids. The beds are rock solid and uncomfortable. You get charged 25 euro for a safe with 20 euro deposit on top! I haven’t been charged for a safe in the last 20 years Thats not the worst part. The food is awful. As I'm writing this there is a couple who have ordered a McDonalds delivery and are eating it in the packed restaurant, this is at 8pm which tells you something There is pretty much one flowing station that you have to que at and if you're not the first ones in at 7:30 pm you might as well not bother. This is the same for breakfast. It's like being back having school dinners in the 90's with everyone rushing to be first in. If your not first in, by the time you've que'd for your food and got what you need at various sections along the line your food has gone cold. You could see people getting annoyed by having to Que and wait for so long. I'm not a fussy eater but there is a severe lack of choice and the wife agree this has been by far the worst place we have stayed for food. The only edible thing has been the pizza which has been good. But it's a lot of money to spend to just eat pizza. It seems the restaurant and the serving stations cannot cope with the amount of people staying in the hotel. We will look to eat out on our last few days Drinks - are standard all inclusive. I asked for a bottle of lager and a pink gin and was told it’s not part of the all inclusive, which I found strange. This seems to be saved for the visiting Spanish. If there was a upgrade we wasn’t even offered or explained why we couldn’t have these drinks Positives (very few) Swimming pools - seem to be alright a little on the cool side Nightlife - standard kids club and different areas with various music We stayed in Tossa De Mar last year at the Golden Bahia and had a really good experience Would I stay here again - Not a chance!
“Highly recommend”
Perfect from start to finish. Lovely family room, plenty of space for 2 adults, toddler and baby (cot provided). Toddler had a sofa bed in a separate room divided by a sliding door and blackout curtain. Shower/ bath was warm and powerful. Food was perfect all week, plenty of themes with your typical everyday items (salad, bread, pasta, pizza). Kids pool in one of the other hotels and at first we thought it was far away but there are plenty of shortcuts around the hotels making it so easy to get around the 4 separate buildings. We used the kids club daily (we had to stay with our daughter due to age) soft play, trampoline, colouring on everyday with extra activities such as nail painting, tattoos etc. €10 cash deposit needed for towels, €1 to change them. Staff very friendly, 15mins walk to the beach without children.
“Booked Suites, got Palace. Overall good!”
The first thing to mention is that we actually booked the Suites via Jet2 and with no warning were told we’d been “upgraded” to the Palace upon arrival. This came as a bit of an annoyance at first. It could be problematic for people who specifically like the Suites but as we hadn’t been before we went with it. The Palace appeared half shut. Bar closed, restaurant closed, pool bar closed and the pool even not available some days due to private events. If I had paid to stay there, I would have been quite annoyed. Saying that, the rooms were nice and clean and the hotel has a nice ambience to it and as a result was nice and quiet. We were allocated to the Coral restaurant which we really liked. A good choice of food, lots of meats, fish. Fresh fruit and veggies and also the usual stuff like pizza and chips and kids stuff. It was one of the better all inclusive offerings I’ve experienced. On the last night this restaurant was closed and we had to go to “Cadi” restaurant - oh my life, chaos and the noise was awful!! The main pool and kids pool and slides are brilliant. Snack bar great. Mini club was excellent for our 2 year old boy. Mini disco was enjoyed also by him and his cousin. Didn’t find queues too bad for bars and a nice choice of drinks too. The all inclusive ice cream truck and magnums, twisters etc. was also nice for the kids. All in all we had a brilliant holiday and will definitely return but have to be aware it’s a bit of a “lucky dip” which actual hotel and restaurant you get! The staff are friendly-ish, I’ve experienced more friendly staff elsewhere. There were a lot of Spanish people there for an event and they definitely didn’t like tourists, but I suppose you can get that anywhere. We will return.
“Poor facilities”
Bar was closed from 3rd September with restaurant following on 6th. This is the most expensive of the hotels yet were no facilities open. We were advised by manager we could eat in the other hotels and that they would keep the other restaurants open till 10pm (same as palace) but this never happened. Queues at the other Evenia hotel bars were horrendous (20 people in queue at times) and I can only imagine what queues are like at peak times. Most staff were really nice but restaurant staff decided to challenge us on our last night as to why we were eating there when we were not staying there! Pools are shared between the 4 hotels but the pool bar beside the palace only opened on 2 of the days we were there. One positive is loads of different sunbed areas but obviously if you want beside the pool these go first. Entertainment for kids is great but nothing really for adults in the evening. Cleanliness wise I couldn’t fault it at all. Overall not a great experience!
