Evens-Goretti House

We have booked this room for 2, however 5 days before our stay our host wrote to us and informed that due to an error this room is not available. She offered us instead a single apartment with a private bathroom and a very small kitchen called “Beach house”. We agreed and wrongly assumed that the apartment is in a similar standard as the booked one. We did not want to search other room due to availability drop and price increase (we have booked our initial room a month before our trip). During our stay in this single apartment we have struggled with odour of mustiness on the first day and odour of sewers on the second day. It was unacceptable and caused problem to sleep and be inside. Furthermore lack of a door to the bathroom in this case was not helping. We knew that it is a single apartment however information about no toilet door is significant while 2 people lived there. About that we were not aware of when we have decided to accept room’s change. Standard of the apartment was very poor. Paint was peeling off the ceiling.

The written messages did not include the correct door code for one of three door codes so I was locked outside the building complex late at night after a walk to the nearby stores. Luckily another friendly tenant helped out and let me in after we sorted I was really allowed on the property :D. That was a bit more exciting than what I would have wished for but all okay. Make sure upon check-in you test all three door codes, not just two for gate and room but also the house. Sorry to the others who heard me ask for help. -Also, I wish the fee for bringing a dog was dependent on size and how much mess it brings to the place. I didn't end up checking in with a dog because of the fee, though this dog would have left less hair or mess than any person. But I know this is somewhat controversial and I am very grateful you even allow dogs at all! Thank you for a great stay!
