Fantastic studio in Madrid LEY3

No constant hot water. In a stay of 4 nights I was only able to have 2 showers without the water going cold after a minute or two. The property manager after asking us on several occasions to turn water on and off and to check the boiler (although didn’t tell us where the boiler was), eventually advised us the hot water was communal. So if someone else was showering, doing their washing or just using water it meant we didn’t have hot water. Totally unacceptable! The studio was in a basement with stair access only. Difficult with heavy luggage. The table to use for eating was a fold up camping table and fold up camping chairs. Very small space. Difficulty accessing property if you can’t access WiFi. We had problems because WiFi was difficult to get in the basement and therefore we couldn’t access the key A towel rail or hooks had obviously fallen off the bathroom wall, marks were there. So there wasn’t sufficient space to hang towels. The freezer compartment in the bar size fridge was full of ice and hadn’t been defrosted for ages. Consequently the door wouldn’t close and there was no room to put anything in the freezer. Kitchen is more of a kitchenette, but useable. We didn’t use as there wasn’t a comfortable place to sit and eat. Bed uncomfortable, no maintenance/upkeep on property.

Guests should be aware that the apartment is located in a semi-basement and is quite small, which may not suit everyone. The hosts should also address some quality concerns. There were small food marks on the walls, which, while not a major issue, could be improved for better cleanliness. Most importantly, the mattress needs to be replaced, as it is far too soft and makes sleeping uncomfortable.
