“Shocking accomodation”

Million dollar view of the Basilica and close proximity to the River and sightseeing were the redeeming aspects of this property. Negatives. This is a very old apartment in a residential block which I don’t believe should be available to tourists. Soundproofing is non existent. The so called third bedroom is a lounge area off a main bedroom. The 2nd bedroom had no hanging area or shelves for clothing as the cupboards were all locked. The views from the bedrooms are into a communal disgusting inner courtyard picture attached. The bathroom was full of black mould with a broken unusable cupboard beneath the sink. The kitchen wasn’t a pleasant place to prepare food given the limited utensils provided and very old pans. The area needed a good spring clean and surfaces fixed. The fridge freezer area was filled with ice an inch thick on all surfaces. Floors were not wood as advertised and were not in a good condition and were dirty. Sofas were all stained. The front door lock proved very difficult to open from both the inside and outside and would be a fire safety hazard! The outside patio area was dirty and old bottles with cigarette buts were on the floor when we arrived. This is a non smoking flat! Booking.com need to visit the places they advertise as holiday suitable apartments.

The best

Location is good and the view is fantastic! Beds are comfortable.

To be improved

Hot water in the shower is not enough even for two people. There is no hooks or hangers in the bathroom and no where to put/hang towels. There is no kettle in the kitchen.

The view is awesome of course.

To be improved

The building was currently under major construction, so the whole staircase was substituted with temporary. When walking in it was kind of scary. But the apartment was great, like stepping into a completely different house. Similarly to many other buildings in Spain, this building also has thin walls, so you can hear what is happening around you.
