Fuencarral II - Apartamento tipo buhardilla en el centro de Madrid

Master bed was very comfortable, but it’s small, not comfortable for two men. Fortunately sofa in the living room was very comfortable as well. I wouldn’t recommend the apartment for more than 2 people. The flat is quite dated, it has a very old gas boiler, which you have to manually fire up with a lighter. Doesn’t feel safe in 2025. The QR code with instructions on how to do it also didn’t work, fortunately I had a similar boiler 30 years ago so I knew what to do with it, but it took the landlord very long time to reply to me when I asked about it. The lock on the door, operated by a code didn’t feel very secure, the door wouldn’t open using keys, it’s code only, so no idea what happens if internet is down r there’s no power. Taking a shower was a bit tricky with the tap to shower switch falling off.

The ceilings of the apartment were very very low, I had to bend down to get through the door. On the pictures it looked way more spacious then in real life.

The location, host and check in were fantastic but the apartment felt tiered and needed to be updated. The décor, paintwork and furniture were old and a bit tatty. It’s a shame that the bathroom didn’t have a walk in shower, the bath was unnecessary in a loft apartment with limited space. Keys and locks need to be changed to avoid wasting time trying to get in. This property has huge potential but is desperate for an update and renovation.
