“Great location but looking tired.”

The best

The flat was 10 minutes from the airport, had an east facing balcony with a sun rise/sea/swimming pool view, a Dolce Gusto coffee machine and from the start the owners and manager of the property were quick to answer any questions. There was free Wi-Fi. The shower cubicle was good and looked like the most recent renovation. A washing machine, plus a 4-ring induction hob and a grill/microwave oven. The immediate neighbours, who actually live there, were very friendly and full of helpful information about the island.

To be improved

The balcony wasn't private. The spiral stairs to the next floor up go right by the balcony. It was open to the immediate neighbours too which meant having breakfast with them (they were great but I'm not a morning person!). The flat was fairly well equipped but much of it was old and tired: the toilet seat was broken and looked like it was the original as on top there were black patches where the veneer had worn away. The fridge door shelves were all cracked and unusable. The clothes dryer on the balcony was broken and looked like it had been that way for years. Sitting up in bed, I'd keep turning off the light as the headboard was at the exact same level as the light switches (yes, I could have moved the bed away but it didn't seem so sturdy).
