The breakfast staff were great. · Cons: The only problem we had was that we both had lots of insect bites in the few nights that we slept there. I spotted some insects in the bed sheets. I think the bites were from those little spiders. It would also gave been nice if there was a kettle in the room.”

We stayed here during our trip through Andalusia, and this was by far our worst hotel experience — and certainly not the cheapest one. The room we booked as a “suite” turned out to be something completely different upon arrival. The pictures on Booking.com showed only two suites, both spacious, renovated, and decently furnished. We ended up in a different building with a room they also call a “suite,” but no pictures of this one appear online. And we understand why. This room was outdated, smaller, and furnished with worn-out furniture. On top of that, as guests of this separate building, we were not allowed to have breakfast in the main hotel. Instead, we had to submit our breakfast choice before 4 p.m. the day before, and it was brought to our room the next morning. The breakfast itself? Worse than your average hospital meal. We were only allowed one drink — coffee or juice. None of this was communicated beforehand, nor was it mentioned on Booking. The bathroom was tiny, outdated, and barely functional. The shower was just big enough for a slim person, and the showerhead kept falling off. The air conditioning didn’t work either — it just blew hot air, which made it impossible to sleep in a city where it stays around 30°C at night. The bed? Horrible — you could literally feel the springs in your back. When we tried to raise our concerns, we encountered little understanding from the receptionist, who is only available between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.. Outside these hours, they were reachable via WhatsApp, but that didn’t really help much. Eventually, we were moved to one of the two actual suites and were finally allowed to have breakfast in the main hotel — though even there, the dry cookies and burnt toast didn’t get any better. At least we could have more than one drink this time. This was, without doubt, the worst hotel experience of our trip — and by far the most disappointing one
