“Major disappointment”

The house had a very stuffy and mouldy smell which, according to the agent, is due to the Asturian weather and humidity and has nothing to do with years of dust and odours encapsulated in unwashed fabrics and furnishings and closed up inside an old house during warm weather. The agent was very responsive though and we were told that opening the windows to get some fresh air was probably the reason that a dozen spiders had gotten in so quickly. The old cobwebs must have been fresh as well as the agent clarified that the house was cleaned ‘recently’. Why would they need to clean it again and did we really think that would make a difference? We had to wash the pillows and blankets ourselves to get their smell removed, but we were obviously lucky that they were so kind to come back to vacuum and remove most of the spiders and old cobwebs. We enjoyed the outside of the house and with my blocked nose it was also very pleasant inside. The pictures don’t do it justice.
