“Mixed experiences”
Mixed experience for us having been to 4 star hotels many times in the same area. Decided to pay a bit extra for a newly renovated 5 star. I can't say it was better in anyway compared to recent other stays in Costa adeje. Like previous comments the food is average. Evening entertainment was generally good. I think we will revert to other favourite hotels near by.
“Exceeded Expectations – A Fantastic Stay”
I’m so glad I ignored the negative reviews because WOW – what a hotel! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the entrance – it genuinely feels like stepping into a Vegas-style lobby. The whole hotel is absolutely spotless, and you constantly see cleaners and gardeners keeping everything immaculate. Our side pool/sea view room was beautiful – really spacious and again, spotless. We loved the Jack and Jill style basins and the large walk-in shower. The only small downside was having to call room service daily (after the cleaner had been!) for extra water and toilet roll, but to be fair, they were usually very quick to bring it up. The food was fantastic with so much choice, even for vegetarians. We couldn’t stay away from the fresh pasta station – cooked right in front of you and always piping hot! All inclusive was definitely worth it. The only slight letdown was the cocktails – they could have been a bit better for a 5-star hotel, but honestly it didn’t impact our stay. Restaurant service was excellent, with plates cleared so efficiently it felt seamless. The location is perfect – just a short walk to the beach, with the option to head left for more casual bars and restaurants, or right towards the charming old town. One tip – I was glad I ironed before arriving! There’s only a shared travel ironing board, so if you don’t request it early, you might miss out. Not a huge issue, but worth noting. We travelled as a couple and really enjoyed the rooftop adults-only pool. We hadn’t realised it included a nudist area when booking, but in reality, we didn’t see anything so it wasn’t an issue at all. Please don’t be put off by the negative reviews – we have high standards and this hotel absolutely met them. There are also some great excursions you can book directly from the lobby – we did Siam Park and a buggy tour to the volcano, both amazing and would recommend! What a fantastic trip. We’d love to come back again, especially as a family next time as there’s so much here for children too!
“Pools not heated and not 5 star”
I wrote this review once and deleted it to give the hotel a chance but now after 3 days in I feel it’s absolutely warranted and all the reviews about the pools not being heated aare true. . Having arrived on Tuesday, I already feel compelled to write this review—and not for good reasons. We are a family of three travelling with our four-year-old son, and we usually stay at the GF Victoria, which sets a very high standard—especially when it comes to family facilities. Our son absolutely loves the pools and splash areas there, and we happily spend entire days in and out of them. So, after hearing about the recent refurbishment and the addition of a splash park at Gran Costa Adeje, we decided to give it a try. That decision has been a huge disappointment. The hotel claims its pools are heated. This is simply not true—or if they are, it’s to such a minimal level that it makes no difference whatsoever. Our son lasted barely 10 minutes in the splash pool before coming out visibly shivering. Even after a warm shower, he still couldn’t shake the chill. We raised this with staff and were told it must be a “technical fault” and would be resolved. Well, here we are the next day—it’s exactly the same. Freezing. And it’s no surprise the splash area is practically empty. It’s staggering that so much money has clearly been spent on refurbishment, yet something as basic as heating the water properly has been overlooked—or ignored. Hoping for better, we tried the main pools today. No improvement. In fact, I’ve genuinely had warmer ice baths. Once again, our son lasted minutes before he was shivering and uncomfortable. For a family hotel, this is completely unacceptable. The pools are a core part of the experience, and right now they are unusable. To make matters worse, even the basics weren’t right on arrival. No tea or coffee in the room—we had to wait until later in the evening for it to be restocked, and even then we were only given decaf. It might seem minor, but it reflects a wider issue: attention to detail is completely lacking. Honestly, this has already put a serious dampener on our holiday just two days in. The hotel may look the part after its refurbishment, but it falls well short where it actually matters. My advice? Don’t spend millions on upgrades if you’re going to cut corners on the fundamentals. This is nowhere near a 5-star experience, and we certainly won’t be returning.

“First visit after refurb”
Another great visit to this hotel. Refurbishment is fab, bringing bedrooms up to date. Hotel absolutely spotless and breakfast had plenty of choice available. First time with family and grandchild, Ricardo was wonderful with baby Sean. All staff friendly and helpful. We'll be back .
