Lovely hotel spotlessly clean, very big room including a kitchen plus plenty of equipment if staying self catering.Staff were very helpful and friendly,food was good plenty of choice.

The best

I recently spent two nights at Hotel Balmes in Calella (Wednesday to Friday) and had a truly excellent stay. The team at the hotel are exceptionally friendly and professional, always ready to help with a smile. The location is unbeatable, just steps from the beach and local attractions, yet very peaceful and relaxing. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom was spotless. Everything feels very well maintained. The beds are wonderfully comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep after a day exploring the Catalan Coast. It’s the perfect place for a relaxing break or longer holidays in this beautiful area. I highly recommend to anyone that is looking for great value, comfort, and warm hospitality. it and would gladly return on my next visit to Calella. Jordi

Not far from the main shopping centre beach or local transport, hotel pool bar area quite cheap for drinks and food, down side towels changed once, no change of bedding but it was cleaned each day it wouldn't stop me staying again

“Family holiday”

The best

Good location, bus drop off is a few minutes walk. Hotel was clean, a bit outdated but was barely in the room. Close to the main street and beach. Can hear alot of noise in other rooms. Great pools for kids not alot of sunbeds. Great entertainment for kids the entertainment staff where fantastic. Breakfast was good, and a good selection. Dinner i wouldn't rate. Much of the same thing, not alot for kids, especially a picky eater was much the same every night. I asked at reception was it the same each night they told me no, I asked was there a idea of what would be on to know to eat out or not, the lady at reception asked why I advised my child wouldn't eat what was there. She told me to give her fruit for dinner. And was quite rude. I just left it and ate out. Loads of places near by. But I'd paid for dinners in the hotel prior. Pool bar food and drinks where Great and affordable also. It's separated. The transfer booked with love holidays can take up to 3 hours each way but the airport is only 35/40 mins away, with stops and waiting on their time tables. I'd sort my own again. Was a lovely relaxing holiday and had all the basics that where needed, but I wouldn't return.

“Nice hotel at a great location”

Great holiday for the price. The location is excellent as it is a 5 minute walk to lots of authentic shops, bars and restaurants. Our room was clean and had everything we needed. Just a suggestion to the hotel, I would change the bathroom doors to solid doors as they have a very minimal frosted glass from top to bottom so you can quite easily see through the glass! Food is very good, fresh options on a daily basis. Can get very busy around the main buffet station though as some people queue and others push in as it isn’t clear what you are supposed to do. Maybe they could do a start point so everyone queues? *Just another note regarding Love Holidays customersthe hotel is only a 30 minute drive away from the airport, but if you book through Love Holidays and book the transfer with them be prepared to be on the coach for around 3 hours! That’s what happened to us and as the hotel is last to drop off and first to pick up to go back to the airport, you will be picked up around 4 hours before you actually need to be at the airport. Best option is a taxi if you don’t want to be sat on a coach that long* Overall a great hotel, staff are very friendly and would definitely return.
