“No respect for the guests”

We recently stayed at Gloria Palace Amadores Thalasso & Hotel. While the hotel has several positive aspects, there is one serious issue that must be highlighted. The hotel states that it is non-smoking in public areas, including around the pool. In practice, this is not enforced. Guests were smoking freely around the pool, ashtrays were placed throughout the area, and there were no visible signs indicating that smoking is prohibited. My wife has asthma, and this had a direct impact on her health. The problem was not limited to the pool area. On our last evening and the evening before, we wanted to sit outside by the bar to enjoy a drink and play cards. However, smoking was present at multiple tables in all available seating areas, making it impossible for us to sit there. We were instead forced to sit indoors at the bar near the reception. We contacted reception twice during our stay. After a reminder, we received a general reply two days later referring to the hotel’s non-smoking policy, but also stating that some guests do not follow the rules. No action was taken, and our follow-up message was ignored. Shifting responsibility to guests while taking no measures to enforce the hotel’s own policy is not acceptable. The lack of enforcement did not only affect our stay—it significantly impacted and ultimately ruined our holiday experience. It is not acceptable to promote a non-smoking environment without ensuring that it is actually upheld. This needs to be taken seriously and addressed properly, so that no one else with asthma has to experience the kind of holiday we had.

“Excellent Hotel”

The best

We loved our stay here. The room is large with a nice bathroom with a good shower. Fridge in room and tea/coffee replenished everyday. Cleaned everyday and 2 bottles of water left daily free. Great large balcony with loungers aswell as table and chairs. We paid for sea view which also looked over the stunning pool. Loads of loungers.Absolutely gorgeous view. Once large patio door is closed you hear no noise from entertainment. We only went once to evening entertainment so can’t really comment on that but a huge seating area. Several bars dotted around. Good location. Go in the glass lift down then turn right for Amadores and follow the path about 20 minute nice walk or left for Puerto Rico, 10 minute walk. Both nice places to go. Would fully recommend this hotel, if you do have any problems reception are brilliant.

“Lovely hotel”

Lovely hotel, but be absolutely carefully being alone in late evening, because if your teas the evening staff and your better half has gone up to sleep, they won’t hasatate to put poison in your drink, so you will get into consciousness. I unfortunately experienced that, when I was with my wife at the hotel around New Year’s Eve 2026 It was a horrible experience both for me and my wife. I was at the hospital to 5 am next morning. My wife had to pay 800$ getting me to the hospital. We have been to this hotel 4 times in 18 months, but we are afraid of visiting it again because of my experience. Because of my experience we have booked another hotel in Puerto Rico instead. I don’t want anybody to get my experience, so that’s why I am writing this. Always follow your partner to bed and be at the balcony instead of going back to the bar

“Poor dinner service can’t fault this hotel but dinner service is appalling no one seems to be bothered about the service”

Terrible dinner service people arguing between themselves no one taking plates away even though they are standing behind me breakfast service is absolutely fantastic seems to be something wrong with dinner service every one seems miserable

“Don’t eat the freshly cooked meat of grill”

We’re at the Gloria palace now & me and my husband have both suffered very bad stomach upsets since day 3 can’t eat or drink & now on day 5 so it’s been a waste of money . Anyone coming here be careful what you eat on the cooked meats as I don’t think they are cooked long enough especially the chicken . Otherwise lovely hotel but won’t be coming back sadly
