Gran Hotel Barcino 4 Estrellas SUPERIOR

We’ve just got back from a great long weekend in Barcelona, staying at the Gran Hotel Barcino. It’s a lovely hotel, really conveniently located and surrounded by great bars, places to eat, and plenty of sights. We had a small issue with the room on check-in, but a quick chat with the management sorted it and we were given a really nice room on the 2nd floor with a balcony. The staff and management were excellent throughout. Some reviews mention that the balcony rooms overlook the street and can be a bit lively/noisy at times - which is true - but it didn’t bother us at all (and is pretty standard for central locations). The bed was really comfortable, the TV had loads of UK channels, and the room was clean and tidy. The mini fridge also kept everything properly cold. The only minor downside was that the cooked breakfast (bacon, eggs, beans) was a bit lukewarm and cooled quickly on the way back to the table. That said, the staff in the breakfast area were great and the overall selection was excellent — especially the little donuts. Overall, a really great place to stay and we’d definitely recommend it.

Easy check in and nice room. We were pleased to have a room overlooking the road below, but what we didn't realise is that the noise outside echoes through the narrow street. The noise level was so high it was impossible to sleep each night of our stay. Averaging only 3-4 hours sleep per night. The noise carried on until 2-3am. The breakfast, room and service was all great though.

The location was perfect

Fantastic location next to the town square and near to the Cathedral plus restaurants & bars. Metro a couple of minutes walking away. We had a room with a mini balcony overlooking the street.

This hotel has a good position in the centre of city. We had a large room with a very well terrace, we could see tower of Cathedral, bells also ring during the night. Bathroom is accessible to people with disabilities. Breakfast caters to everyone's tastes.
