Verified reviews from real guests who have already stayed here.
Central location with easy access to everything.
All staff are very friendly and helpful.
The large pool area and beachfront location are noteworthy, but some amenities need improvement.
Overall experience is good despite some food quality issues.
Rooms are large and cleaned every day, with a lateral sea view.
Good value if considering it as a base.
“Ok but not worth all inclusive”
Hotel is nice and clean the food was ok but only just warm if you like coffee it's only available in the mornings or by the pool bar we were all inclusive and your only allowed small beers staff quite put out if asking for a large beer and only let you have small no snacks or ice creams unless you pay for them maids don't knock walked in on us twice getting ready . The hotel is nice and the beach is amazing
“Lovely Hotel in great location”
Recently stayed here for a week and enjoyed my stay. Reception staff all very friendly and helpful. My room was perfect for my needs. Good sized bathroom. Decent balcony with table and chairs and a nice sea view. Room was spotless. Lots of storage space and electric sockets. Great fridge that was quiet and kept everything really cool. Bed was comfy with clean good quality linen. Cleaned everyday. Fresh towels daily and a linen change after three days. Friendly maid. I was there for b&b only. The amount of foods available were abundant. Lots of cooked items, pastries, cheeses, meats , cereals and breads. Freshly cooked eggs and bacon available. The lady at the front desk was always smiling and friendly. The inside bar area was rarely open during the day as they preferred ppl to use the poolside bar. A few days it was too cool and windy to sit out so I ventured to cafes in the town about 5 minutes walk away. Friendly bar staff inside and out…..except for one man about 50 years old. Very rude and grumpy. Other bar staff said he’s always like that. There was entertainment on one of the nights I was there. A lady singer. I wasn’t impressed as she was obviously miming to pre recorded songs. I didn’t stay long. Pool area very nice and lots of sunbeds available. Beach out of action though as sand shifting was taking place. I loved the little town. Lots of very good restaurants and cafes. Had a very good week there and will definitely return next year but later in the year when the weather is more stable.
“Not very impressed”
Recently stayed at Gran Hotel Costa del Sol in Cala de Mijas. Overall the hotel is okay, but considering it’s advertised as a 4-star hotel, we expected more. If you’re looking for peace and quiet, this isn’t the coast or hotel you want to book. There was a constant strong smell of weed in several areas of the hotel and even outside around it, including near the pool while sunbathing, which really affected the atmosphere. We also raised a concern about one particular room near ours where the smell was very strong, but unfortunately nothing was done about it. Another disappointment was that there’s no gym available (or it was closed in mid-March), which was something we expected as they advertised it. The restaurant feels more like a school canteen, and the food selection was quite repetitive. The menu barely changed during our stay, even though the hotel advertising suggested more variety. Also something worth noting: if you book all-inclusive, food at the pool bar is not included, so you still have to pay for it. We didn’t notice this in the small print when booking. Beds and pillows were not very comfortable, but that's a personal preference for us both I guess. Bathroom walls were peeling off, not very aesthetic. Aside from these points, the hotel itself is fine, they clean the rooms daily if required, but overall our expectations were higher for a 4-star property.
“Good stay”
Stayed between 5th ans 8th March withn group of friends..we all had single.occupation rooms. Receptionist staff efficient and polite. Rooms clean and housekeeping staff friendly and hardworking. Hotel facilities average. Evening entertaimnet not that great if you want to listen to live music after 11pm and have nice drink. Drinks ar the bar were good and in resasonable price. Good value for money for half board basis. Restaurant staff speaks basic english what leads to confusing situations and restaurant manager (Fri night)requires customer service training. Food was OK but no labeled so hard to say what a dish it is. Overall good stay.
“Great hotel...”
This hotel is super. The staff, very good... room lovely, and extremely clean. Blackout curtains were great. Beds comfy. Bathroom very clean, towels good size. Tv in bedroom was brilliant, with fantastic choice of English tv channels... it was 42" tv. Food excellent, with good choices... we were half board. 3 lifts, which we needed. The view from our room was brilliant, looking at the sea... the sound of the waves was lovely. We went to the Flamenco evening in the onsite bar... that was great, and free... Look forward to going back.
“Lovely experience due to lovely bar staff Danny and sechico”
Me and my boyfriend stayed in this hotel for 5 nights. Hotel was lovely. We spent most of our days out exploring and eating!! But in the evening we enjoyed drinks at the bar.. Danny and sechico (sorry about spelling) were amazing and made our hotel experience! They were fun, friendly & just in general really nice! They are the 2 staff members that made us want to return to this hotel! Thank you Danny and sechico we hope to see you again soon!!
