“A great stay in the heart of Madrid”
Great location and right in the heart of Madrid. Big room with a cute little balcony & a beautiful ceiling. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming. Lovely authentic Spanish building, hallways & lift. I would stay here again.
The noise could be an issue for some but I wore ear plugs. The last night was a struggle as the people in the room next door were very loud and the noise went on until 2am. The floor must not have been mopped/wiped before I arrived because within 30mins of unpacking and walking around the room... my socks where black underneath. Everything else was very clean.
“I liked the fact that it was central. Lots of facilities around: places to eat, to have fun. It was clean. · Cons: I didn't like the wall above the bed...completely wet and yellow...a lot of damp. The smell of the wet wall was horrible. We slept with the door of the balcony open.”

“Very nice room, beautiful old building with well working vintage elevator. A little bit tricky to find, because it’s private apartment and there’s no any information about property outside. Despite that communication with host was very smooth and effective on whats uo, so we entered in to the building easy. The apartment itself is in good location in walking distance to all main places, very clean. · Cons: Cause is the center at night can be quite noisy if not close the window”

“Just the job.”
Great location and plenty of room for 3 of us. Kitchen and bathroom were good and a nice touch with toiletries and tea/coffee which was welcome. Staff were helpful as we were later than our anticipated check in
It was difficult to get into as there was no signage. A few phonecalls sorted it out!
“No support whatsoever if there is an emergency out of hours.”
Good location.
I wouldn't advise staying here between June and end August as there is no air con and there is a good deal of ambient noise from Gran Via if you open the window. However my chief reason for recommending against using this hotel under any circumstances is the experience I had of being locked out. I returned to the hotel about 1am one night - not late by Spanish standards and I had not consumed any alcohol - to find the lock to the main door on the street blocked. The key went in easily but would not turn at all. It seemed there was a second key in the lock from the inside or that it had been somehow bolted. Since the hotel has no reception (something I didn't realise when booking) I tried the entrance bell, the SMS numbers of the 2 staff whose numbers I had been given and sent messages via booking.com. Everything was hopeless. There were simply no instructions from the hotel or booking.com about what to do in an emergency. I waited for over half an hour on a street where the passers-by were becoming increasingly dodgy, waiting for a Spanish speaking friend to come to help. Then as luck would have it a young lady arrived who had the phone number of a resident, who was able to unlock the door using an internal buzzer system. It was honestly one of the worst experiences I have had in 35 years of travelling and I shall be writing formal complaints. Meanwhile my advice is don't book this place.
