Once the booking had been completed, and the deposit had been taken and online check-in completed, everything went smoothly. The property was lovely and comfortable, with great facilities, and the location was very picturesque and convenient. Hermigua is a friendly town, with lots of nice restaurant and shops, and the excellent tidal swimming pool is about 20 minutes walk from the house.
The only problem I experienced was due to Booking.com, not Lightbooking, who run this property. After making the booking and paying via the Booking.com checkout, I received a direct message from Lightbooking, via the Booking.com system, requesting credit card details for payment of the deposit mentioned in the listing. This message was also sent to my email. The email version of this message contained a button that linked to the external Lightbooking website, where I was able to enter my card details securely, as well as completing check-in. However, because I first saw the message on the Booking.com system, the link to the external site was not included (because the button was not copied due to the message being converted into text-only format), and as far as I could see, I was just being asked for credit card details in a message. I was concerned, as this resembled a well-known scam (where an accomodation provider's Booking.com login is compromised, and a hacker can request card details for a "deposit" via the message system). When I eventually saw the copy of the message in my email, I was able to see the button, once I clicked on the Lightbooking website, I was reassured it was less likely to be a scam, because the website is quite elaborate and appeared legitimate. However, I was aware that this was not a guaratee that it was safe, so I still paid the deposit using a card that I froze immediately afterwards, to prevent further payments, just in case. To be fair, the problem of providers having to request money for deposits outside of Booking.com seems to be caused by Booking.com not providing a way to pay a deposit on the Booking.com website, so I cannot blame Lightbooking for this, but it made my booking experience unecessarily stressful.

Nice view, peacefull. Personal touch - local cookies and papaya. Visit natural pool.
