Great location for seaside strolls and easy access to amenities.
Fantastic amenities available including pools and bars.
Generally friendly staff with some complaints regarding attentiveness.
Overall experience was enjoyable despite some dining and maintenance issues.
Value is fair, but dining options do not meet initial expectations.
Comfortable rooms with some maintenance issues noted.
“One of the best resorts and overall vacations we have ever had.”
Most of all, the island is magical! The property location is excellent, both close to and for peace / privacy far enough from everything. The grounds are lovely and the glorious plants are meticulously maintained. The entertainment for all ages is outstanding (even if you never planned on it). The Vulcan restaurant truly lives to its reputation.
At dinner time non-alcoholic drinks (even water) not being included in the inclusive packages was rather bizarre. Furthermore the system of ordering/waiting for said drinks was a drag as 3-4 staff would take in and fulfill a single order. I wish we were able to self serve as during breakfast.
“A pleasant and relaxing stay, though not 5 star.”
A nice looking hotel, large with an attractive reception & piano bar. The large pool area with views of the sea is beautiful. Dinner in the Privilege restaurant was very tasty, service was mainly good, but wish the Priv restaurant was in a different location. The restaurant itself looks tired, and there is a much nicer restaurant next door to the Italian which was unused. Lunch and dinner in the Italian was brilliant and we had great service from Moira and team. Dinner at the steakhouse and Sakura also a great standard. We loved yoga with Marta. Evening shows were not on every night but we enjoyed the ones we saw. Our kids (7&9) didn’t use the kids clubs but there was plenty to keep them entertained.
Although a great property, unlike other reviews I read, I found it to be quite dirty. Every morning there were drinks & straws and cigarette butts from the day/night before on the floor. It felt like the floors and patios weren’t cleaned regularly enough. The volcanic rock looks great in the well kept gardens however it’s all around the pool area and my son got a bit wedged deep into his foot which was very painful. The rooms are tired and small. Gym has no air con. We didn’t use the priv pool as it felt hemmed in, and no sea view. The priv pool at Atlantic Sunset was exceptional so we were disappointed. There is not a pool you can swim in that isn’t salt water, only the small kids pool which is paddling height. Service was hit and miss. We had terrible service in the buffet restaurant, after being told we didn’t need a reservation, we arrived for lunch and were told there were no tables despite half of the restaurant being empty and set up for service. The manager looked stressed and irritated, we needed to demand a table to be able to eat (kids were hungry) eventually we were seated but it all felt like it was too much trouble. There is no self service drinks in the buffet and our drinks arrived when we’d almost finished our meal. My cousin saw a hair on a serving spoon in the buffet, when she made a member of staff aware, they removed it, shrugged and replaced the spoon. Needless to say, we did not return to the buffet. We opted for Privilege but found the breakfast buffet to be lacking compared to other H10 hotels (we’ve stayed at Tindaya and Atlantic Sunset). Items often ran out without being restocked, a flat white coffee arrived different each day, some staff walked around looking busy but without purpose. Dirty bowls and plates, croissants did not look or taste freshly baked. No caviar. Yogurts were the plastic tub kind rather than a nice jar. Cava was kept at the front desk and should be on the buffet.
“Fabulous hotel ... highly recommend!”
Fantastic food.. great restaurants on site. Staff were lovely and the place was spotless.
Only one lift operational which is unusual in a property this size... luckily it didn't impact on our stay much
