“Disappointment, no junior suite”
Overall, we found this hotel and the room we ended up with to be not worth the money we paid. We had booked the junior suite with hot tub and were told on arrival that it wasn't available for two weeks because of a vague "issue". It is unclear why they didn't tell us beforehand or where in the two weeks our visit fell. We were offered a superior room with terrace (108) and upon entering, we requested to move as this was directly outside the lifts, directly above the bar where the door did little to dampen the noise and overlooked by about 10 other buildings. We moved to 413, another superior room with terrace. This was a better location but still a significant downgrade. The staff kept trying to tell us that 108 was a bigger and better room but it just wasn't? I'm not sure if they were confused but it wasn't bigger or set up as a triple like they claimed. The hotel further compensated us with some cava, a lunch and included breakfast, as well as a refund. This was appreciated but, frankly, I'd rather have not bothered travelling and returned when the room I wanted was available. The room we ended up with was okay but certainly not worth the money. It was small with little storage space. As with the other superior room, the terrace door did very little to block out street noise. I've seen other reviews praising the soundproofing but this was not our experience at all. We could hear other rooms around us, the corridor and the street noise quite clearly, as well as a light shaking we assumed from the metro. The terrace itself still felt quite overlooked and never got any sun so we barely used it. The positives are things that I imagine are consistent between all room types. The air con and mini fridge were cold. The WiFi was excellent. The Rituals toiletries were lovely. The beds were comfy. The room was cleaned well everyday, sometimes with treats. The location is also pretty great for the metro or just as a central point to walk from. I cannot praise the staff highly enough. They handled our disappointment as best they could in the moment and were always helpful and professional. They provided blankets for the terrace and booked us a taxi back to the airport. The concierge was always ready to help. I'm not sure if it was the disappointment of not getting the experience I wanted but I just feel like the room we ended up with was not worth the money. We could've easily had a "not so superior" room and the experience would have been the same at a far better price. I think our experience was unfortunate and would generally recommend the hotel to people, but be prepared to be disappointed by your chosen room especially if you think you've opted for a higher end room.
“Brilliant Hotel and Great Location”
Very nice and clean hotel. Rooms are spacious and modern. The hotel location is a stones throw away from all the main attractions and landmarks. Staff are really friendly and attentive (with a smile on their faces all the time). Rooftop pool area is nice and breakfast was a nice each morning, although the coffee was warm (not hot) out the machine. Would I recommend and stay again.. 100% YES!
“Highly recommend this wonderful hotel!”
What a fabulous hotel! From the moment we arrived we felt very welcome and all the staff are so friendly and helpful. We had a terrace room and it was perfect to relax after a long day sightseeing. The bar and restaurant are great, definitely go for the breakfast option, it sets you up for the day. It's a perfect location for getting around Barcelona too - the Metro station is just across the road and has great links across the city. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again. Many thanks to all for a wonderful holiday.
“Excellent hotel, centrally located”
Highly recommend this hotel which is centrally located making everything really accessible with two metro stops nearby. Rooms are spotless, cleaned daily and quiet. We were upgraded to a room with a terrace - worth a visit to the plunge pool on 6th floor if weather permits. Breakfast was excellent and will def stay here again, staff very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Can recommend Tacatra tapas restaurant with Spanish dancing a few doors down the road.
“A very pleasant and well-situated hotel in central Barcelona”
We stayed here for 7 nights in February 2026 (room 201), booked through Jet2. This is a very pleasant and comfortable hotel, in a beautiful old building, with an international staff and a welcoming atmosphere. Like many hotels these days, guests are requested to download apps and scan QR codes to get information, but this hotel has retained the human touch as well – unlike some hotels we have stayed at, where the staff seem to avoid any direct communication with guests if they can (eg by hiding behind high reception desks). Thank you for the warm welcome, help with arranging trips, getting taxis and so on. The central location of the hotel close to the Via Laietana was perfect for us. The only attraction which we didn’t walk to or from (or both!) was Parc Guell, and even that would have been walkable if we had had more time. There were plenty of restaurants and corner shops near the hotel, but the area was not particularly crammed with tourists. Our room was comfortable, with all necessary equipment and toiletries (and all of it working properly), good lighting, excellent beds, and daily housekeeping as the default option – in too many hotels these days, guests are told that housekeeping will be provided every 2 or 3 days unless specifically requested, supposedly ‘in the interests of the environment’. As regards the layout of the room, we found it slightly unusual to have the washbasin in the room rather than in the bathroom, but that didn’t worry us. The soundproofing was excellent: we heard very little noise either internally from other rooms and corridors, or externally from the main street below. We slept very well here. Also, we appreciated the rose and chocolates left in the room on Valentine’s Day! A kettle was provided for us by reception. Breakfast was served in the basement room, as in many hotels. Often these rooms are cramped and claustrophobic, but in this hotel the breakfast room was airy, spacious and relaxing, and the staff helpful and friendly. There was plenty of variety each day, and some variation from day to day – including lots of heart-shaped cakes on Valentine’s Day! We also had a couple of meals in the bar on the ground floor, which were good value for money. Thank you to all the staff for helping us to enjoy our first visit to Barcelona to the full. We would be very happy to stay here again on a future visit.
“Great location, immaculately clean, helpful staff, poor bar area”
Visited for 3 nights celebrating a friends birthday. Hotel is in great location and immaculately clean. I was lucky enough to receive room upgrade which was lovely. Plenty of hanging space, and great coffee machine, although being a tea drinker they promptly provided a kettle with tbags etc. The breakfast was plentiful and very good. The only downside is the bar area which is not particularly inviting, more of an afterthought and just a bare room with a couple of tables. We didnt have great weather so spent an afternoon in the bar area and a pack of cards would have been useful. A great visit to a wonderful city.
