“A stay with views, charm, and lovely people.”
If you're in search of a Spanish escape with jaw dropping views and more architectural charm than you can shake a Moorish column at, this Cortijo might just be your dream destination. Perched in an unbeatable location, it offers a 270-degree panorama of rolling landscapes, perfect for those who like their morning coffee served with a side of breath taking scenery. For the active traveller, there’s no shortage of things to do, two pools, easy access to the famous Pueblos Blancos, and stunning gardens with plenty of shady hideaways when the Spanish sun turns up the heat. The staff? Utterly lovely and endlessly helpful. The room we booked wasn’t available (a minor frustration), but in a twist of unexpected generosity, we were upgraded to the best room in the hotel, complete with a sauna, jacuzzi bath, and enough space to host a small wedding reception. The bed was pure bliss. But the room offered no views which is one of the reasons we booked the accommodation. However, the modern rooms in the newer section, particularly Poolside Room 5, would have offered spectacular views.
Now, onto the quirks (because no stay is perfect). Security dogs with an overactive imagination provided a rather vocal welcome, occasionally mistaking their own tails for intruders. The electronically controlled gate seemed to have a personality of its own, sometimes letting us in, sometimes deciding we were unworthy. And, while our room was undeniably grand, it also had the atmospheric lighting of a medieval monastery, which, combined with a slightly damp feel (likely due to the off-season timing), made for a somewhat moody ambiance. Let’s call it "rustic romance with a touch of gloom." But the real mystery? We were the only guests in the entire hotel. Not just a quiet week, literally the only people there. This meant a limited menu (though breakfast was the usual continental fare) and the undeniable feeling that we had booked a stay in an exclusive, yet slightly eerie, private estate. While we appreciated the peace and quiet, we’re still not quite sure why the hotel accepted our booking knowing full well their season hadn’t yet started. A little transparency would have been nice! Would we return? Absolutely, for the views, the charm, and the unbeatable location. But perhaps next time, we’ll check if the hotel (and its gates) is fully awake for the season before we arrive
“A real gem of a place in the heart of nature.”
Absolutely gorgeous place in a dreamy spacious setting. Lovely room with massive comfy bed, fantastic pool and jacuzzi. Food was delicious and personnel very helpful and friendly.
Nothing not to like.

“Beautiful casita with private pool in rural Andalucía”
The grounds of the property were beautiful and the views all around are amazing. The casita was very tastefully decorated and comfortable. They did a great job melding the building’s historic character with modern furnishings. Despite the restaurant being closed, they provided us dinner onsite. We also had a private pool.
We were there on a Sunday to Monday, and it felt a bit like a ghost town. When we wanted to explore the grounds in the evening, it felt a little like we were trespassing because there was no one else around (employee or guests).
“Beautiful location, we want to go back and stay there forever! 😀 Everything was perfect.”
