Great quiet retreat but not near other amenities.
Host communicated quickly and check-in process was easy.
Spacious and comfortable apartment.
Overall enjoyable stay with some notable positives and minor downsides.
Good overall experience for the price, considering the location.
There were mentions of cleanliness issues with one of the hot tubs.
“Superb”
Beautiful view and calmness!
Host takes long to respond. Sauna was not in use.
“Passable”
Unfortunately, this experience was quite disappointing, especially considering the high price we paid. I had higher expectations. - The rooms are spacious. - It was a nice gesture that they left us a welcome gift — a bottle of wine. - The location is unique, offering accommodation on a banana farm with access to the ocean. Now, the downsides: - The person handling check-out doesn't speak English, which made communication quite difficult, especially when trying to pay by card or ask basic questions. - The location is hard to access at night — the road leading there is long, zigzagging through the plantation, and there’s no lighting along the way. There's only one sign at the entrance, which isn't enough. - The check-in process was not very straightforward. Thankfully, I had read previous reviews and reached out via WhatsApp in advance to clarify which room we’d be getting and how to check in. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have known what to do, as we received no welcome message or instructions beforehand. - The water in the jacuzzi wasn’t changed during our stay. It looked stagnant, and there were dead insects floating in it. - On the first evening, I tried to book the sauna, but no one responded on WhatsApp after 6 PM, even though we were told they were available at any time. The next morning I made a reservation for that evening, but when we got there, the sauna wasn’t working. - Breakfast was very limited: two slices each of salami, ham, and cheese, a bit of butter and jam, a small portion of porridge, and some tomatoes with cheese. - Unfortunately, there are no walking paths among the banana trees, which limits the experience of exploring the farm. All in all, it’s a unique experience worth considering, but perhaps at a different accommodation. It feels like there hasn't been much reinvestment or upkeep at this property.
“Dreamy, quiet and relaxing.”
Beautiful surroundings and views. The apartment was very very clean, I was very positively surprised. All utilities you could possibly need for cooking were there. Just fabulous. The only thing that could be slightly better is the breakfast, as the choices were abbot limited. But what they had tasted good.
“A romantic secluded place”
Lovely cozy unusual place! Perfect for couples or groups of friends who prefer to avoid touristy places, wanna be in a romantic secluded place with all the comforts. It's located in the middle of a banana plantation. Peace and quiet all around, with birds singing. At night, stars, the moon, and absolute silence. There's a pool, jacuzzi, a small nice sauna and a truly wonderful open terrace with tables on an elevated level, right among the treetops of the banana plants. The room, or rather the apartment with a kitchen, living room, and two bedrooms where I stayed, was impeccably clean. The scent was delightful, the bed was comfortable, the bed linen was fragrant and fresh, and the kitchen towels were spotless, the toilet and shower - excellent clean. There were the welcome bottle of wine. The only thing you need to be aware of is the check-in process and communication with the reception. There are no English-speaking staff at the reception. If you don’t speak Spanish, you will have to rely entirely on Google Translate to communicate. Secondly, the check-in process itself: when you arrive, it’s very likely that no one will answer the phone and reception will be closed. You’ll need to find, on your own, a set of printed instructions and your room number placed on a wooden bench to the right of the hotel entrance. You’ll see your name there along with all the necessary information. Other guests helped me find this, and later, newly arriving guests saw me and asked for help—and I assisted them in the same way. The hotel staff are friendly, helpful, and at the same time pleasantly unobtrusive - if you manage to catch them😁 There’s one more thing you should take into account. If, like me, you are a solo traveler without a car, be aware that the road leading to the hotel goes through a banana plantation, and it is completely unlit after dark—all the way to the hotel. It’s about a 10-minute walk.
