“Surprisingly good”
A change from my usual choice for a hotel, but one I am glad I made. A small hotel in the centre of Madrid in a great location. An excellent experience from the very start being met by a very lively staff member as I was walking into the hotel. Check was quick with very helpful & friendly staff. Room was very clean and comfortable, with the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Oh and the biggest hotel shower I have ever seen. The only down side was that the roof bar was closed and the foyer bar is small and felt crowded with just 20+ people in it.
“Horror”
The room was fine, although half the bathroom is in the room itself; specifically, the sink for brushing your teeth is right next to the bed. Downstairs at the bar, it took us 16 minutes to be served two watered-down cocktails that tasted of nothing. I understand that for €14 per cocktail they might include some gummy bears or something, but it seemed the bartenders were more interested in talking amongst themselves or on their phones than in serving the customers. We ordered hamburgers to eat at the bar, although they had already charged us for the cocktails in a very rude manner, making us feel very uncomfortable. When the hamburgers arrived, the buns were burnt, and the meat, which we ordered well-done, was raw. We won't be back! It doesn't live up to the expectations of a real Hard Rock Hotel.
“Excellent hotel, wonderful team, and great hospitality”
We had a fantastic stay at the Hard Rock Hotel Madrid and couldn’t fault the experience. The room was excellent. It was stylish, comfortable, and spotlessly clean, and the service throughout the hotel was consistently friendly and professional. From check-in to check-out, the team made us feel genuinely welcome. A very special mention goes to Sam (aka Prince), who truly made our stay extra special. His hospitality, local recommendations, and warm personality really stood out. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time in Madrid, and his tips helped us make the most of our visit. The atmosphere of the hotel is vibrant without being overwhelming, and it’s a great base for exploring the city. We would absolutely stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Madrid. Thank you to Sam and the entire Hard Rock team for such a memorable stay!
“Not worth the money you pay at all”
We recently stayed in two rooms at Hard Rock Hotel Madrid for our honeymoon and post-wedding trip. As usual, the staff were very friendly, and I especially want to thank Manuel for making our arrival so welcoming. However, our issues this time were not related to the staff. The room conditions were the main problem. The space was extremely small. Unfortunately, our room faced the patio. When we closed the window to block out the music noise at night, the room felt suffocating it honestly felt like being shut inside a box. Both of us experienced anxiety, and had I known, I would definitely have requested a street-facing room. The window was very small, didn’t open properly, and didn’t allow fresh air in. When it was closed, it genuinely felt hard to breathe. My second issue is the bathroom layout. The toilet and shower are separate, but the sink area is in the middle of the room. Imagine needing to use the toilet in the middle of the night: all the lights turn on, and your partner wakes up. This kept happening because I needed to wash my hands and freshen up. I truly don’t understand why there is so much space dedicated to separate toilet and shower areas each large enough to be a proper room while the bedroom itself is so small and lacks space. Only a small mirror mirror with poor light infront of sink that made it impossible to do makeup. Honestly, I can’t say anything positive about the room because it made me frustrated every single day, and I was just waiting to go back home. As for breakfast: I chose this hotel because I’ve stayed at many Hard Rock Hotels before. This was not my first Hard Rock experience, but it was my first four-star Hard Rock. The breakfast buffet variety was very limited for a four-star hotel. honestly more like a two- or three-star standard. If you came after 9 a.m., almost everything was gone, and you constantly had to ask the restaurant staff to refill basic items like walnuts, tea, or fruit, cheese,... This is simply not acceptable. I regret this stay. I had been told many times not to rely on hotel titles, and now I understand why. For the amount I paid close to 1900 $; I could have booked a far better hotel. But because I enjoy staying at Hard Rock properties, I chose this experience. I do not recommend this hotel. You can’t justify a stay just because the staff are friendly. The price was far too high for the level of service provided. Still, I’m thankful for the beautiful memory they created for me on the first nigh .that was the only real highlight of my stay. OBS! if you have a disability or heavy luggage and there is no bellman available which happened to us at checkout, you have to carry your suitcases down the stairs yourself. There is no separate accessible entrance, and there isn’t even an elevator for entering or exiting the hotel. More importantly, I saw on Booking that the hotel listed a pool and other amenities. The pool was closed, and several facilities shown in the booking photos were not actually available. This felt like false or misleading information.
“Hard Rock Madrid Disappointing”
First time in Madrid and to a Hard Rock Hotel, absolutely loved this city but unfortunately the hotel fell short of expectations. Check in was swift and friendly situated in a spacious but extremely cold and uncomfortable foyer with bar. The room we booked was standard class but plenty of space, modern with an excellent shower, bed was comfortable and pillows amazing. Breakfast was ok but the breakfast/dining room was so cold it was uncomfortable to eat in until our last day on 3rd Jan when area was warm. We checked in on 30th December and as we hadn’t pre-booked anything for New Years Eve we decided to use the hotel facilities unaware that the Hotel had a ticket only New Years Eve Party taking place which was fine except the bar staff refused to serve residents instructing us if we wanted a drink we should go to our room and order room service! There were a number of unhappy residents who, like us, appreciated the party was ticket only but were stunned at the harsh tone of the bar staff refusing to serve drinks. Additionally the party went on until 3am again not considering the hotel residents as the noise was incredible. Perhaps if the hotel had stated in booking over this period that there would be a function then at least we would have had a choice to book if tickets were available, however, to shun paying guests like they did is totally unacceptable. Income generation I appreciate but this level of customer service will not encourage returning guests.
“Holiday break to see in the new year”
The service at the bar was terrible specially by the rude bar tender called Pablo. Be vary of using this hotel as staff are unfriendly and rude. It’s too busy and very understaffed, they lack training and experience. We chose this hotel for roof top Poole and bar both of which are closed but that wasn’t stated at the time of booking.
