Holiday Inn Express Valencia - Bonaire by IHG

Stayed here for one night while driving from Malaga to Barcelona to break the journey up. I knew from driving this route before that there were a few hotels along the motorway and after checking out the one next door this one was cheaper and included breakfast the Holiday Inn Express won out and it was a good choice for an overnight stay. Next to the hotel at the end of the free car park is a large shopping centre with plenty of dining and shopping options. The room was a basic, but clean, comfortable and functional room and I got a good night’s sleep and had a nice standard HIE breakfast the next morning which had a decent variety of cold and a few hot items and was sufficient to get the day started before packing the car and heading off north towards Barcelona.

The hotel is lovely, so clean , room was big enough and was actually really nice. The staff are so friendly especially Sara and Andrea who helped me and my mum with directions of places we wanted to see, so helpful.Hotel is amongst lots of shops and restaurants . City centre is a bus journey away it took us between 40-60 minutes depending on traffic so good if only there for a few days , taxi would cost about 20 euro's. Taxi to airport was 13 euro .

My third time staying here and I feel like standards, other than the staff, have gone down. I’ll start with the tiny rooms. While I knew what to expect size wise, the hotel had a made a decision to turn off the AC. You couldn’t even run just the fan, as it only came on with the heat. There is a small window that can be opened but there was some construction going on at the mall, that went on way past midnight, so the noise was excessive. The noise from slamming doors was also excessive. It was essentially impossible to get a good night’s sleep here for a multitude of reasons. We found that the pillowcases hadn’t been dried properly, and had this damp smell. Actually, from the stain on one of them, not sure the pillowcases had even been washed properly, let alone dried. The bathroom was also on the small side, but had a bidet in it as well. There was good water pressure and ample hot water in the shower. There was a detachable shower head but water tended to soak the bathroom floor. Breakfast is good with lots of options. But again, the best part of the stay was the staff - all very friendly and efficient.

Our room had 2 single beds with a light on for each bed but only a nightstand in the middle. There was a desk and chair, hot water kettle, a tiny closet, and some shelves but no mini-fridge. The bathroom had a bidet, toilet, and sink shower/tub. The hotel was quiet, clean and well maintained. We did not partake in breakfast (hours 7am-10am) but did get a to-go bag.

Nice and confortable hotel. Breakfast could be better and with more variety. Kitchen close relatively earlier but the commercial center on the side can be a good alternative. Confortable and clean rooms. Good and free parking zone. When compared with ibis hotel on the side holiday inn hotel offers a lower value for money.

The Hotel is close enough from the Airport. we didn't realise when booking that there was nothing to do around there. we had to get a Taxi to Valencia centre every day and cost over 20 euro each way. the Hotel itself does not have a restaurant. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good enough. Rooms were very clean and comfy beds and nice crispy white sheets. but very basic. I would stay there again as stop over.
