Location.. ease of check in and access to apartment. 10 mins walk from train station. Apartment was really lovely. Will happily go there again

To be improved

If required Shower didn't heat up at 11pm . Was fine during the day.

Location, location, location: very convenient for the train and bus station, harbour, city centre, etc. A winter price of Euro 110 per night is unbeatable! The bedroom at the back is very quiet (at least in February).

To be improved

On the website, check-in time is 3pm. However I received an email every day before we arrived asking me to check-in online (I couldn't because the website wouldn't let me) and saying that check-in was not until 5pm which was a pain. We went anyway to the office to leave our bags there until 5pm but, lo and behold, the apartment was ready. After two days, I started to wonder why the flat had such rave reviews because we were not impressed with the equipment on offer a) kitchen utensils either poor quality or non-existent. Not even a wooden spoon to make scrambled eggs let alone a slice to make fried eggs or an omlette b) the "welcome" packet is virtually non-existent c) the toaster only stayed on toasting with a lot of encouragement d) the quality of crockery and cutlery - a hotch-potch of various bits and pieces and the pots/pans and finally the quality of the lighting in the flat is extremely poor - the light bulbs are simply not giving off sufficient light and there is no reading light at all in the lounge area. On the day of departure, the lift was not working so we had to lug our suitcases down 3 floors. I have taken the time to look at reviews going past the last 18 months and the comments are all very similar - but nothing has been done to rectify the issues. Would I stay at the flat in the summer months when the price is around three times more expensive? Not a chance... such a shame, it could be a really good flat but the owner is obviously not interested in investing even in small changes.
