“Catfished with the promise of a beautiful boat and w”
Absolutely nothing. It was like holidaying in hell.
We booked home boat and whilst we were on our way, received a message saying there was a problem with home boat and they were putting us on 'a bigger boat'. The bigger boat was an absolute wreck. Every window let in rain so all the beds were wet, the kitchen facilities were a microwave - that was being used to hide rotting wood and a sink down the steps with no plug. We spent 3 nights trying to mop up leaks so that we weren't underwater. We contacted our contact person and he was a teenager who turned up to the boat with 2 small bin bags and a roll of tape. To secure every window. He disappeared when my partner asked what his plan was in torrential rain with a roll of tape. He got onto his phone then disappeared without a word. About 6cm of water - 2 hours in standard terms - later, two men came with a huge roll of plastic and covered the roof of the lower deck with it. It did keep the living area dry but didn't stop the rain pouring through the ceiling of the upper deck. We were supposed to have free WiFi but both had to purchase data bundles to keep our phones in use. It was honestly absolutely disgusting. We had to fork out for laundry services as one of the windows were directly above where we were storing our cases so everything we owned was soaking wet. We were also told that if anybody asked who we were to tell them we were friends of Patricia. What had looked like a lovely little adventure turned into an absolutely horrific nightmare.
“A charming boat with a friendly host. Needs a bit of work, but if like a simple lifestyle on a boat for a night or two t”
The surroundings, the beach, living on a boat in general, friendly host
The boat needs a lot of maintenance, the smell of the toilet is disturbing
“Good”
Owner was werry nice and helpfull. The location was verry good.
The smell of toilet.
“Maintenance badly needed”
Maintenance maintenance maintenance. When are you going to fix things properly on your boat? Toilet seat is loose, but worse, the toilet bowl is loose, there are holes in the deck, the kitchen tap is broken, the wobbly chair is fixed with wire, there is a dirty old fridge standing on the deck, the curtains are sad and frayed and held up with wire, the shelf has fallen down one end and no: there isnt really any wifi! It is all such a pity given how nice it is to lie in the hammock looking at the harbour.
So many of the problems I mentioned are mentioned by other guests in their reviews and you have still done nothing about fixing them.
“it was a relaxing stay with a great view of the marina.”
The location of the property was amazing and the chance to stop on a boat was really cool, would recommend this to anyone looking for a chill get away
