Hostal Athenas

It was clean

We stayed at Hostal Athenas for 7 nights. Hostal Athenas is located at the heart of Sant Adrià de Besòs and is conveniently located right near the Artigues-Sant Adrià metro station, which is about a 3 minute walk away. There are plenty of different cafes/bars nearby for an inexpensive breakfast/lunch/dinner. The reception is not often manned so there is an automatic check-in machine outside, it was quite easy to process and check in. We had 2 rooms during our stay as we requested to move as our first room (202) had an adjoining room and it was very noisy from the adjoining room. Also, the fridge did not work, and the Television was tiny. We were moved to room 308, which was slightly better regarding the noise, and had a fridge that worked and a larger TV. There were no tea/coffee facilities in the room, they are located in a little communal area on the 1st floor. The room was a decent size, with a kitchen sink, microwave and cutlery so you can easily make your own food there. The bed wasn’t particularly comfortable, maybe on the hard side and there was no proper duvet, just a thin sheet. However, the main problem was with the bathroom, it had drainage in the floor of the bathroom which must have been blocked as every time you used the sink, water would seep up from this drain, this must have been a problem for a long time because the bottom of the bathroom door was full of damp. This also caused a quite horrible smell. The sink itself was tiny, too small for me to be able to do anything comfortably. The more positive aspects of the room were that Wi-Fi was good with a stable connection and the air conditioning worked well. The cleaning service was good and was done every time we left the notice on the door and even when it wasn’t they knocked on the door and asked if we wanted anything doing. Overall, the best thing about this Hostal was its proximity to a metro station. We would probably stay here again unless there were better options.

Very nice rooms with great size for the price.Good location and very close to metro with 15 mins to central barcelona.

The receptionist lady was very kind. The cleaning staff was nice. The rooms are very clean.

Clean and close to the subway

Though being far from the center the location is not bad thanks to the trasportation. There is a Mercadonia and a few cafes and bars nearby. There are lockers and we were allowed to leave our bags theretill the time if check-in. There is a sink in the room and a few plates, forks, glasses, and a microwave and a very small fridge. The towels were clean.
