The description of this hotel's location is rather misleading. Once you have settled in, it's a wonderful location--very close to restaurants, shops, and the beach. But getting there requires hauling your luggage up steps. Even if you arrive in a taxi (as we did), there is no way to approach the hotel without going up steps. For some people that might not be a big issue, but we were on a three-week trip with large suitcases, and we really struggled. Staff at the front desk did not assist, and they adhered strictly to the check-in time of 3:00 p.m. Not a kind arrival, and no amount of hospitality after that initial impression could help. Also note that there is no overnight staff, and little about the hotel, other than the very small rooms, seems "boutique," because the warmth and breadth of service is lacking.

“The view from the terrace is incredible, and the short walk to Cala Es Codolar was amazing. The streets immediately around the hostal are quiet and beautiful. · Cons: The location is lovely but be warned. The rooms are comically small, no room to open or store a suitcase, and you have to walk up and down several sets of stairs just to get to the building because it's in a part of the village that does not allow cars. We paid extra for the terrace room, but it's just a room on the public terrace that everyone shares, so people are drinking and talking on their phone on the terrace. It's a 4th floor walkup. There are no extra towels for the beach. Parking is 20 euros for a space 10 minutes away when the public lot is 5 euro. Breakfast is 15 euro and they charge for coffee outside of breakfast hours.”

The location was fantastic and the breakfast delicious. The staff were very helpful. The rooftop terrace was stunning.

To be improved

The room at the back of the breakfast dining room, with a window facing a shaft, felt a bit odd and like a converted storage room. But it was nicely renovated and mostly quiet. ...And there was a bit of a kerfuffle regarding an alarm in the dining room outside the room at 2 in the morning. I was unsure how to contact anyone since there is no staff after five, so I pulled the alarm wire. My fault - it turned out that the help was easily accessed via WhatsApp and arrived soon to fix the alarm.
