“Not fancy, but a great location to explore Madrid”

Great location in the Las Letras neighborhood. The simple, clean room met basic needs. Good breakfast spot across the street and other restaurant choices. Be aware of the flights of stairs to reach room.

To be improved

When you arrived at the address, check-in instructions (to call, walk up to second floor and through door, etc) weren't clear, but check-in went smoothly. Towels were clean (and classically dried on interior clotheslines), but a little frayed.

“Immaculately clean simple room in excellent location.”

Very clean simple room in excellent repair, tall doors open onto small balcony, good AC and hot water. Lift was available and working, if desired (we typically took stairs). True double bed and good mattress. Excellent location in Old City, easy walk to both museums and Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor.

To be improved

Complimentary toiletries were a little sparten, few creature comforts in room, such as no hot pot for tea or instant coffee. Check in with hosts was on second floor under a different hotel name, a little confusing at first.
