The best

Mario is the best. He texted beforehand to make sure he would be available upon our arrival. We had two rooms and the air conditioning was necessary as it was so hot and humid. The location is great, in between metro stops and Chueca is fun and lively and feels close to everything. The price is great, simple amenities and having a small fridge was great for cold drinks.

To be improved

I wish we would have known that there is a lively club on the corner, below the hotel. Also, it is on the third floor, no elevator, and we were fine with it, but if you struggle to get upstairs, not for you. The bathrooms are fine, showers are small, if you are in a bigger body, it will not be pleasant to shower.

The room was the perfect size for a solo traveler. The room was cleaned every day (new bedding, towels, etc.) and the staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and connected to Madrid.

The best

We enjoyed our stay very much, the staff at Hostal Casa Chueca was very friendly. The apartment was being cleaned every day, including towel and bedsheet changing, which was very nice. The location was absolutely perfect. Even though there is vibrant nightlife in Chueca, the windows filtered out the noise from the street very well so we could sleep tight.

To be improved

There could be a disclaimer for there not being an elevator and the wooden stairs being quite steep. The only other thing worth mentioning is that the walls in the house were quite narrow (noise can be heard from the other apartments) yet we are aware that that might be a feature of Madrid's apartments in general and it didn't disturb our holiday at all.
